I'd have to say Habs is my second most exciting team to watch behind of course my biased love of Oilers Also, happy to see Patrick Laine didn't get injured after the beating he got from the darn Blue Jackets. I mean … game 7 of the Stanley Cup final there was more let’s go Oilers and people from Alberta vacation in Arizona. Thanks to Gary, the NHL loves having teams that play in outlet mall parking lots without much atmosphere.
It's nice to see Jake Evans continue his great season considering that he was a 7th round pick playing as a 3rd/4th line penalty killer; I'm happy to see him replicate Byron's knack for shorthanded goals.
So great to see Dach having a game after a rough start to the season for that guy. Martin said he's been putting in work and practice time and looks like it's starting to pay off! Good hockey IQ being in the right place at the right time twice

Pour ma part je ne m'attendais vraiment pas à ca , super match. Très content pour Dobes et je trouve que A. Carrier amène une stabilité à la défensive. ✌️
Looks like a new starting goaltender for the Habs. He looks really confident, with very little excess motion. The boys helped him out by firing on all cylinders.
Dobes looked comfortable in goal, confident and square to the shot. No rebounds, nice clean goaltending I hope he can push Monty to his next level This road trip will be a great test Dach needed those 2 goals to push him over the line to thinking game over pain His next 5 games will show if he can be comfortable on offence and defence One win does not a season make, first let's see if Montreal can string 3 or more wins together on this road trip
Montambault has plateaued. I don't think there is another level in him. He isn't an NHL number one goaltender. He is nothing more than a stop gap until the emergence of Dobes or Fowler. Dobes, at 6ft5, if you noticed, they tried to pick the corner above his shoulder a couple of times, not with the way he covers. Montambault gets beaten on those numerious times throughout the year. It will be Dobes and Fowler in the future. Montambault won't be part of this team in 2-3 years.
Did not expect to be grinning during the third period highlights of this game, yet there it was: Habs not mauled by Cats. Even the puck got into the act, fumbling and bumbling and stumbling and just plain TUMBLING into the net! I know reality will return, but that was great.
Finally our #1 goalie has arrived! For this year...Monty and Dobes should be a very potent duo! Within a couple years it will be Dobes #1 and Fowler backing him up!
He will, my prediction at the beginning of the season, missing a full year, the psychological after affects of the surgery, and the body getting up to speed with all of the moves he was capable of doing that he had to get readjusted with; 40 games. He'll be fine on the back half. That line is starting to click, it takes time.
2 points in 10 games for 5'9" Frank Nazar, the player drafted with Dach's return in the trade. Jury's still out, really. Having Hutson and Caufield in the lineup already i'd rather have 6'4" Dach than Nazar.

Laine didn't score but, it was his best game as a Habs player. Also, made only one mistake in the game, late in the 3rd, but nothing came out of that. One trick pony? BS. Watch this game and rethink your thoughts.
Monty, Dobes, and Fowler, the Habs seem pretty set in goal for the relative long-term 💪🏼 it’s too bad Primeau hasn’t panned out, it’ll be interesting to see if another team takes a flier on him
"Monty" isn't a number one goaltender, there are too many holes in his game, he scrambles and can't do what Dobes can do, consistently catch the puck to stop the play. He gets beaten over his shoulder several times a year, they tried it twice with Dobes today and learned pretty quickly that there is no hole there. Mentally, Montambault can't handle more than 3-4 games in a row without a hiccup.
@ for what it’s worth, he has better numbers than Binnington so far this season. Only one shutout less than league leader Hellebuyck. And the Habs are only just starting to turn it around of late. Monty is just fine.
Stunning. Come on, no one would have called a rookie goalie and the current Canadiens' defensive unit pulling this off. Couple of smush goals but plenty of hustle and keeping stupid "turnovers/miscues". especially in their own end, to a minimum...stifling any possible comeback (unlike yet another #$^%&! blown 3rd period lead in Columbus the other night). When they keep beating the teams they should beat, if playing in all aspects to their potential, AND also begin beating teams they most likely shouldn't at least half the time, then we know the rebuild has finally taken hold.
