  • This Video explains the process of validating large backup file. Let say if you have backed up DB of size of 2 TB then to validate restore, you don't require any free space on client. You can validate data, throughput using this option without actual restoration .

Thanks for the Very Useful videos. Please share one more video about backed-up data import to commvault. You have data in a tape drive and there is no index for that data how can Commvault read and restore that data.

      Hi
Index is always saved along with backed up data on tapes! Please refer to my old videos on index.

Thank you for this informational video. So in this validation restore data block will move from MA to client then if data is available,it will discard at client end ?

It will discard anyhow! Because this is just to validate restoration process and data. No actual restoration will happen irrespective to data availability on client!

How long this would take for big size database or filesystem? Its validating each block wrt to source and any client side performance impact can be expected? 5:48

Thank You for the tutorial, but I have a question. When You are making backup´s of VM Ware, and You are using "Changed block tracking" feature for faster backup, is there any other restore validation cloud be used? I am challenging with scenerio, when backup´s are finished without errors, restore is finished without errors, but recovered VM won´t start, due to inconsistence of file system. DR test eith Live Mount is not usable due to high disk library ussage.
