Today marks the official soft launch of the R151 train on the Changi Airport Extension! This was a highly anticipated moment for many enthusiasts including myself. The train looks fantastic at Expo and Changi Airport as these stations have a new and futuristic look. Alstom and SMRT staff were onboard for the occasion as well.
This train ran 2 rounds on CGL as an extra T101 before withdrawing as a “final test” on CGL.
I am aware this same set did a CGL run back in 2023. Apparently it was an emergency deployment as a KHI suffered a fault.
SGT2581 Announcement: With LTA announcing the retirement of the First, Second and Third Generation Trains in Singapore, (Kawasaki Heavy Industries Contract 151, Siemens Aktiengesellschaft C651 and Kawasaki Nippon Sharyo C751B), both of us will be filming more of these trains on both NSL and EWL, to commemorate the great service that these trains have provided.

I've ever wanted to filmed this R151 train, but unfortunately all the 6 train car are very noisy with people taking loudly due to a lot of passengers Onboard from Changi Airport MRT Station to Tanah Merah MRT Station, so I didn't film it.

No, 077/078 and 055/056 were already running on CGL. 823/824 was running as an extra train for 2 loops.
