Making sense of the Book of Acts is a real Problem for Christians.
We are often told not to take the account literally. We are left to answer questions in our own minds. Questions like, When Paul says "we are more than conquerors". Is he speaking metaphorically?
We read the actions of the people in the aftermath of Jesus death and resurrection, and we wonder what to do with the information?
The information explodes into a million thoughts in our minds. Momentarily our vision of what is possible is limitless! Then question begin to seep in. What are we to do with this information? We are mere humans reading a super human account of the life and times of those super human followers of the RISEN Christ!
This speech will destroy doubt! We recount the heroic efforts of a mortal man who believed in his immortality (2Cor 3:14-16a) He believed and he spoke and he refused to faint! Paul told those to whom he discipled " you did not see the risen Lord but you are more than conquerors because you believe he did."
Study with us, how Paul was told not to go into Asia (Act 16:6) and be amazed at his enemies description of him as one who has turned the world upside down by (Act 17:6). If you disbelieve the words men spoke about Paul then believe the Holy Spirit's true estimation that "all Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus ... by (Act 19:10).
Paul really meant "we are more than conquerors", and his faith and actions take our breath away when he arrives in Jerusalem in Acts 21:20. The true epithet of conqueror is shouted by his defeated enemies! Jews from Asia shout "HELP! this is the man that teacheth everywhere against the Law and this place." THE MAN? Help you with this one man?
In the trial that follows, Paul allows his true identity, as none other than "Saul of Tarsus", the hated traitor, turned follower of Jesus of Nazareth, to be revealed.
This sermon is designed to make you more than a conqueror. REVEAL YOUR TRUE IDENTITY! Expose the congregation where you are as a SECRET society of so-called believers, and become an unashamed follower of Jesus.

What do we make out of the fact that Jewish-Christians were not understanding Paul's position on circumcision? Paul would have written Romans 4 by the time he arrived at Jerusalem in Acts 21 and they still don't understand?!
If we see the mental struggle was so severe in their time we must ask ourselves if we are really communicating with each other today to the best of our ability and listening to each other with the best of our ability?
