There are times in the course of life when things are hard and life is difficult. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas had been beaten and thrown into prison. They didn’t know whether they would be rescued or whether they would be killed for their faith. Nevertheless, they “prayed and sang” to the Lord because God is worthy of our worship no matter our circumstances. It’s easy to sing when times are good, but how easily do you sing when times are bad? In today’s teaching, Pastor Gary invites us to pray, “Lord, teach me to sing in the darkness.” In other words, even when things are bad in life, may we still have a song on our lips for the One who is worthy of our worship!

I have been in such a dark place. As dark as one can get. Thank you, thank you God for bringing me to this message tonight. Never heard of this preacher, but God brought me here. My heart is opened now, ever so slightly to let the light in. God, give me the ability to sing in the darkness.

Your question if you could do what Paul and Silus did, singing and praying in their situation is I believe only answered when and if we would ever be in such situations, I pray we never will be of course, I had to think of Richard Wurmbrand , how he was imprisoned in his native Romania for fourteen years, when I read his story, I too thought , I'd never be able to do what he did.. yet again we don't know really.. Pastor Gary. Thank you. This is my third time listening to this message. There is great darkness with a broken heart and grief, when your young adult children tell you they don’t want to see or talk to you unless you affirm their delusion, and “love” them more than that “fake man in the sky” whose book authors were homophobic. Who tell you they will come back around to relationship once you fix yourself. And yet…I love God first and my children after Him. That will never change. And so I will sing to God in the darkness.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have already known too many days when all I could do was sing praises... These are the days when your heart and soul are so low there are no words for "prayer" all you can do is praise God for the salvation of your soul... These are the moments I crawl into the arms of my Savior and bless Him for all He has done for me... And what great moments they are... "Bless the Lord oh my soul..."

Hi Pastor Gary.Greeting from the beautiful country of Singapore. May I share my thoughts about the slave girl utterance and yet Paul didn't intercede there and then. May be he prayed in tongues and fasting in order to cast away the demon possessed girl at the Lord's appointed time and sing in the darkness without fear . Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah singing Praises to His Holy name. Amen.

Pastor Gary Galatians 1:17 & 18 tells us that Paul was in Arabia for 3 years not 10 years.
American Christians could be imprisoned for their faith … for no other reason than worshipping the LORD Almighty … there are Christians in America who’ve been arrested, jailed, dragged into court, and persecuted
American Christians should not be in denial about what’s happening across our country to our brothers and sisters in Christ
