You have blown my mind. You are my favorite band from all of the tiny desk submissions (even better than mine). The lyrics are so beautifully crafted and I've listened to this song so many times that my body gets pre-chills with the buildup to the harmonies. The way that the Mandolin and Banjo compliment each other so well is another thing entirely! If I could even kind of play those instruments, that is the way I would have played them. The instrumentation took this song to a whole different level! The song starts out sweet, then builds through the addition and complexity of each of the different instruments (Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, and Vocals) and I just shake my head in disbelief. Sorry for a bit of over-analysis....

I've listened to this song on repeat on bandcamp all month since finding it. I love the sound and the meaning and how much fun and joy is apparent in how you all play it. It gets stuck in my head during the day, and your whole live album is so sweet to fall asleep to. Your voice is so perfect. Your band is so aptly named. I hope you win, even though you're technically competing with my friends entries. (Shhh don't tell them I said that!)
Never cared much for folk, bluegrass or country music where these same instruments are often used but this style of song is one I would like to think embodies what should be the standard of what is labeled 'Americana'. You have my NPR 'Tiny Desk Concert' nod of approval!
