    You digged youself a hole at the beggining of this DM, saying "it is 100% employer funded costs you $0" is bad because it kills the chance at a Defined contribution.

    Question: how is the portable cost the same for someone who’s employed when the cost is pre-tax. If they port the policy away, then you’re paying premium with after tax money.

      Yes, I would say you are correct. I imagine the actual premium cost would stay the same, but it would "feel" like more. And my understanding is that the policy holder would keep the payroll policy, with more robust benefits, and would most likely still be paying less than if they had purchased a direct policy.

      I believe the cost of insurance is being paid after taxes are deducted even though it is payroll deducted. That is just to make it easier for the insured. Remember, the policy premiums are paid by the insured but THROUGH the payroll deduction. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Can an employer fire you for a non work related injury

    • @simplysavvylife
      @simplysavvylife Год назад

      Perhaps if you are an at will employee and you can't do the functions of the job . They aren't required to offer light duty. It's not discrimination if you aren't considered disabled and signed on to perform duties you are no longer capable of.
