I suspect the 50 amp setting means it would charge a 12V battery at 50 amps. So it may just change the voltage slightly, while still being around 12V, instead of actually driving 50 amps always.
You said that thing takes 50 amps when using that power source? At 12 volts that's 600 watts. That's freaking nuts for a spinning plate and a pump. I can build that drive mechanism with a pump for less than 50 Watts. How much does this machine cost. Cuz looking at it start so I can probably build this thing for about 75 bucks using less than a tenth of the power.
Now you need to find something to auto feed the dirt, get the thing to work on hydroelectric power, and set up a few thousand in the river and youll be golden.

Hey you need some Jet Dry or Dawn dish soap just a drop or two in your water to break the water tension it will help.....just a drop or two tho
