  • I've used a blue bowl and a fossickers rectangle pan for a ultimate fine gold recovery system with 100% recovery. The entire system is re-circulating and can be setup anywhere. This is a demonstration on how it all works.

    Thanks - my blue bowl didn't come with a pump, so I'm using an old pond pump. I've been cleaning up cons all winter long and this little beauty is working awesome.
    Thanks for the comments.

    some of you dont know this but what makes the pump work is a magnet that help in turning the pump black sand will get in the pump and mess it up slow it down....clean ur pump out guys this will save you alot of money and time.....as well try and pull ur pump off the bucket floor half way maybe so sands dont get in it....good luck

    If anyone is wondering what that green pan is, it is called a Maverick pan by Fossickers. It is used as a finishing pan.

    Thats a great setup and you are spot on when you talk about classification, its vital to crush your material to dust using a dollypot so as it can pass through a flour sieve, thanks for taking the time to upload, cheers NM.

    Just a thought about how to not get your pump all messed with. Towards the end of the bottom tub, place a fine mesh screen or two and the pump on the other side and as someone said earlier, do not place it at the very bottom, place it about half way up the water level. This should help.
    -- With that being said, I am just getting into panning, though I have never done it before, I will soon and I really like this idea, I'm going to replicate it!
    PS: You should put these kits together and sell them! make videos like these and link to your website where you would sell kits :)

    5% solution of sodium cyanide will dissolve any unseen gold, then adding powdered zinc will precipitate the dissolved gold.
    The black sand can also contain gold. Of course Borax is the safest way to treat the the results with heat and a clay bowl.

    Smart thinking, I noticed that's not the pump that comes with a blue bowl, did you need to replace, or did you just want a little more power? My pump seems to have lost a little vigor after 1 summer of use. I like the addition of the pan, seems to cut out a bit of the work of re running the cons. Well played!

    fantastic design, what angle do you need to have the green pan at so it can act like a sluice. I have a small le trap but its too big for fine recovery this looks perfect.

      +Karl Blank - good question, not sure. I just played around with it until the flow was smooth. Next time I set this up I'll look to see what the angle is. Thanks for the question.

    So can you run material through a variety of screens, 20,50, 80, 100 stacked on top of each other, flushing the various grades all at the same time. Or this something you have to do one screen at a time? Seems like a decent idea to me..but it might have a draw back that I'm not realizing. Your thoughts? Great system you have that by the way...I like it.

    so what you're saying is that a 20 mesh is bigger then a 50, 100 or 200 mesh screen? I though it was the reverse?

    I filter my material to 30 mesh and the material which is left at the end of the blue bowlcycle is always little iron balls almost like shotgun pellets which only exits the blue bowl when the water is spinning at the highest level of the bowl. Do you ever get this problem?

    You can not get 100% of gold with water tables, bluebowls, or any sluice. Much of the gold is attached to black sands, you are missing those...the best possible fine gold recovery is a kiln..

    Does anyone knows how to identify real gold from fake gold?

    • @ClearAdventure
      @ClearAdventure 8 лет назад +1

      +Roger Nevez Fake gold is not nearly as heavy. A bunch of other things you should research yourself. Sorry friend, don't have all night to tell you all. Google it. ;-)

    • @LanternLooney
      @LanternLooney 8 лет назад +3

      When you say "fake gold" I'm assuming you mean pyrite. So, pyrite is also known as 'fools gold' and pyrite is a lot lighter than real gold so it moves around a lot easier in the pan, and gold usually stays in its place. Hope this helped!
