The chinstrap doesn't fit you You can fix that by adjusting it at the buckle. You'll see two semi circle metal bits (5:30 pause), just pull the strap out of them, adjust the length of the chinstrp, and insert the strap back into the semi circle looking clip thingy. Pretty simple dude, i got my first helmet at 11 years old and I worked it out immediately
He literally says that the belt is "super inaccurate" and that the boots are too. And he also says the suspenders are wrong. And he also says the helmet cover in wrong. But he says they helmet is accurate to the time period. No need to correct him again.
Don't worry I'm not hating on you. Yes men in Vietnam did have flak jackets but Vietnam War flak jackets are quite expensive and just don't currently have the money to buy one. Also not all soldiers wore them just FYI
The difference between specialist and corporal, is corporal is a position of leadership, and your web gear isn’t too far off, and you should go online and get some real jump boots, Corcoran makes jump boots, they’re the same company that made them in ww2, and the flaps on the sides of your mag pouch, are use for grenades, and that specific magazine pouch is from Iraq era, but it works, and your helmet cover is in ERDL woodland, it’s more of a marine thing if I’m correct

In the field they never wore rank on the sleeves, In most LRRP or Infantry outfits they wore no rank at all to give them away to snipers or if captured. Everyone knew who the Officers and NCO's were. They didn't wear white name plates in the field either, nor did they wear the " Piss Pot" to hot and heavy, wore boonie hats instead.

Southern Tv Ive never heard anything about the M16 being used a secondary.Every video and picture Ive seen shows a regular riflemen using m16s as thier primary.Early in the war they used m14s.Did you know the M16 jammed alot because they used the wrong gun powder specified for it.It was cheaper to produce ammunition and also the rifles weren't being cleaned when they were using them in the field.

I also did not say that the M14 was the only weapon they were using. People were using just about every weapon from WWII forward. The XM16 and M16 had major issues from magazines to lack of cleaning kits that made it fail big time and people reverted back to older weapons until that was worked out fully. Like I said, around 1965 was when we made the big switch. That is 5 years of war and 5 years of advisory that it was not in full service. As for them being stuck with XM16E1s, that is the US military all over. During the war and moving forward from it, the armories would just often make frankensteins of all of the rifles and their various parts. If a M16 or XM16 broke, you just save the parts and rebuild or use them in another build. Most of the M16s going forward were just conversions of past variants, and M4s were just converted M16s a lot of the time. I had a buddy that worked in the armory and I have photos of the massive stacks of rifles on the racks. Most weapons from before these rifles were used and abused till they could not be used for anything but scrap, and for good reason. Money is money.

When they landed in Vietnam in June 1965 they were Airborne until 1967 when they became Airmobile.

As for them being stuck with XM16E1s, that is the US military all over. During the war and moving forward from it, the armories would just often make frankensteins of all of the rifles and their various parts. If a M16 or XM16 broke, you just save the parts and rebuild or use them in another build. Most of the M16s going forward were just conversions of past variants, and M4s were just converted M16s a lot of the time. I had a buddy that worked in the armory and I have photos of the massive stacks of rifles on the racks. Most weapons from before these rifles were used and abused till they could not be used for anything but scrap, and for good reason. Money is money.
