As soon as I saw that Gaga can actually do metal, I hope one day she covers Sad But True!! I think that song will fit her perfectly, especially after hearing that raspy scream in " Seduced by fame" 🔥 As a pophead who grew up listening to a lot of metal from Metallica to A7x to Bring Me The Horizon etc... I would argue that Lady Gaga was not dressed like “she was going to a concert” she was instead embodying performers like Wendy O. William. Not only did Wendy O. I get what you are saying, and I'd actually prefer her to wear the red carpet look she did with the guys at the ceremony. + it was her booty shorts era during "Joanne" album promotion, so it still fits into the mood that she looks like more of us, the audience, rather than a stage persona. On the other hand, she started doing stage performances with her friend by doing bourlesque shows to metal songs, so I kinda feel that it was okay for her to do a wiggle or two here and there as a dance choreography combined with a dirty erotic look, because it's quite apparent that she lives the metal spirit up on her pop stage.
I respect your opinion about her outfit, but I respectfully disagree. If this was around 2009-2010, I would say yes she should change the outfit, so people can focus on her voice more. However, this was 2017 where she established herself as a respected singer and coming off right after the Super Bowl. Plus we've alwaays had those chicks in metal vids dancing and all so I was getting that energy from her and I loved it 🤣And after watching multiple metalheads reactions, the main issue (Aside from technical ones) Were that her choreo was a little off or that it looked so planned as to where it should've been a bit smoother and natural. But I guess that's the pop star in her, lol. Plus it was rehearsal, so everyone was just dressing comfy
