    Always enjoy your reviews, they are delivered with detailed enthusiastic energy and an aura of kindness. I also appreciate the referrals to mental health as well as I suffer from bouts of the dreaded A and D, made worse at the minute by me waking up on Friday morning to see my "Therapy machine" Gone! stolen in the night. Just be vigilant everyone, I'm suffering a kind of grief that I would think silly if not experienced personally.

    Yep, handling is great, better than my ktm690. Suspension is fine, but have just gone for nitron which is huge improvement. Brakes are plenty strong enough. Really compact, light, low c of g, flickable. Great in Town or on gravel tracks. Not a motorway cruiser! But if your on the M5, get a car!

  • @frankpinion4937
    @frankpinion4937 Год назад

    Actually if you look at it the exhaust system has also being changed over the previous models. Also if you look at the specs the engine has being changed-the clutch has being lightened & the bike now produces it's max torque further up in the rev range.

    Great review ive been away from road bikes for 6 years and brought a gen 2 icon in red ,its such a easy bike to ride and ideal for me to get confidence back ,yes its a bit pricey but ducati,s are and seems well put together .

    Had the Mk1 Scrambler Full Throttle. Found it a very easy bike to get on with even though there were complaints of a snatchy throttle. Just didn’t gel with it though and sold it to move back to Triumph.
    I think it’s a great business idea, starting out as a basic, no frills bike (Mk1) but selling it as a higher cost and aiming it at a certain segment. I won’t complain as it brought new riders to motorbikes which is a big plus for me. I wouldn’t discourage it but would recommend potential owners to try other bikes - especially if you are a returning biker like I was.

    • @aunoates6617
      @aunoates6617 Год назад

      I have to ask … (because I can’t work it out) why especially for a returning rider?

    • @jageg462
      @jageg462 Год назад +1

      @@aunoates6617 It may not be the case for every returning rider but I got this to play it “safe” as I had been off bikes for a few years. The bike before it had been a Triumph Street Triple. I found that it was too safe and I wanted something with a bit more power. I know power isn’t everything but much happier on a Thruxton RS compared to the Scrambler.

      It is a great formula 👍 I didn't find the throttle on this new model to be snatchy. It is hard to beat the Triumph's, but it comes close for sure.

    The looks do seem to have improved over the previous model, but I wonder if it would be better with lower bars, those 'cowhorns' looked too high!

    • @redangrevival

      I agree. However the bars do look strange, but they make it a great ride. I would personally keep them as is

    Test rode full throttle a few years ago, really fun but the Triumph Street Scrambler 2019 with upped power and brakes swung it for me, heavier but that noise and solidity

    This seems like a fun bike, as you mentioned once or twice, I just don’t see the scrambler part of it, not a fan of the TFT-screen either. The Triumph Scrambler 900 is what I see when I close my eyes and imagine a scrambler. All that said though, it’s the only Ducati I could see myself owning. I would only swap these mirrors for simple old school circular ones.
    Fun review! 😜

    Thanks for the review. I'm a bit of a Ducati hater, due to them being very pricey for purchase and servicing, and not offering anything more than other brands, IMO. However, I see virtue in, almost, every 2 wheel, motorised vehicle. My worst nightmare would be to be stuck in the pub with the owner of the Ferrari from the golf club. As Kurtz said in Heart of Darkness: The Horror, the horror. Keep on riding safely.

    Expensive for what it is. I have always been put off the Ducati Scrambler by reports of its unreliability. I really wanted the first model, but I didn't take the risk. I think the base model looked good in yellow, and it still does. The TFT doesn't suit it, though. It needs an offset round one.
    I'd rather have an XSR700, but if I knew the Ducati would be reliable, I'd consider it. 1990 [Nick J]
