Really enjoy your ‘arriving at...’ videos. It’s really helpful seeing the different sites you both go to. I like how Poppy always seems to know when you’re almost arriving at the sites! Keep going with the videos. They are really informative and entertaining. Best wishes for the new year!
Really enjoyed this video especially poppy at the end with the high five!
Enjoyed the video, I’m glad the weather brightened up for you. Poppy is ready to see her friends bless her xx
thanks for showing fitting the cover and magnet positions - just bought one and wondered about them.
Hi Jenny and Bob, when you come to replace your screen cover, have a look at Polar screen covers by Monster Products. We are so pleased we went for one of these this time. Excellent quality and customer service at a reasonable price with a choice of colours. We chose black to compliment our van and have lost count of the number of motorhome owners who have asked us about it on sites. Friends who were Silverscreen customers have just switched to a Polar screen for their new Hymer because they were so impressed with ours. Thanks for covering the show - great bedtime viewing to look forward to every day.
Nice and chilled out video I liked that
Poppy having the last word or yell! lol.
Thank you Bob and Jenny.
Always enjoy your videos. Its nice to watch your journey to sites and hear Jennys tour info x
We were one of the 0.01% that voted for this video. Well worth doing as you added the extra fuel, water filling, reversing and screen cover information. Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate what might seem obvious. We still just use internal blinds so may well invest in a silver screen for next winter. 😄 Trev n Sue
Hi Bob, THank you so much for remembering my request to watch reversing into the pitch that was very kind. Also to Jenny for standing out in the cold to film. I will watch a few more times. I do get nervous but the trick is slowly and carefully. Also I don’t think I was going far enough forwards before reversing. 😊
Yes, give yourself plenty of room and take it slow. It takes practice, we all had to start somewhere.
Awe bless, Poppy was desperate to see her friends! The site looked pretty quiet. Glad the weather brightened up for you.
Hi Bob, our payload is 800kg so we travel with the tank full, 200litres.Have weighed the laden Motorhome and the gvm is still well under the 4400kg. Happy travels.
I like the small cupbpard for the wet shoes it's way better than our older van, a bit of a bugbear with for us. Nice to see your getting along with your new satnav lady friend😀
Great reversing video. Can you show a "Van Levelling" in the next chapter of Bob's Basics ?
Thanks, I don't use the ramps that much, but yes, will do.
Hi Bob welcome to God's country as I was born only 5 mins from where you are! Thanks again for your motorhome size advice a few weeks ago - much appreciated. After careful thought I think I will continue with my car/caravan combination for a few more years as I have a nice 4x4 estate car and a very nice caravan with Alde heating. We tend to stay in an area for 7-10 days and it nice to be able to put up the awning and have a good base to travel and explore the area. Also, despite car/caravan combination being well over 3500kgs I can continue beyond 70 without the hassle of a medical.
I wouldn't like the bother of towing a car but obviously a personal choice that works for you. Enjoy the Glasgow show. Cheers, Jim
It's like we say, it's whatever suits you, no choice is right or wrong as long as it suits you. Enjoy your travels.
Enjoyed vid guys .. cheers Chris & Sam
Hi Bob Jenny your rig looks good on the road, passed you on the M6 ( I has going south 3m 18 seconds into your video Black Passat estate ) yep the wind and snow on the A66 was a surprise also hope you have a great time .😀
Thank you.
Poppy as always the star
I live blackpool, but I stayed over at hunters moon site in Dorset couple of days ago because of watching your vid, what a great site can't wait to go back 👍
Thanks, we liked it there.
Have a good show both of you 👍
Hi Bob, nice relaxing video, although I'm not sure if I'd like to be on camera when reversing!
Re. the sat nav, I used a Garmin for many years and have been told to "turn onto the allee" on occasions all over Europe. It's a bit confusing at first, but Garminn occasionally seems to like referring to small roads and lanes as "the allee", no matter where you are!
Thanks, now we know!
If I'd seen poll I would vote for arrival vlogs👍👌🐈🚙
Just had email to say pumpking is ending this month. However you can continue with discount from the Caravan Club via pump pecker. You will need to sign up for the card but it's basically the same set up. Also you can use it at Shell stations too.
It's now called Fuel Pecker. Can be used at Esso Garages for up to 6p per litre off pump price.
Hi Bob and Jenny. Just love watching your video's. We are new to motor homing. Would really like to see scotland this year. We will be travelling from Shropshire. Could you recommend a half way night over stop we could use. Any advise would be gratefully appreciated..
Moffat C&CC, Englethwaite Hall, or Meathop Fell C&MC are some of our favourite stopovers on the way north.
I just had an email from Pump King saying it’s closing as of the 17th Feb as they have been bought over by Fuelpecker who have a different system with no weekly discounts it’s all fixed depending where you get fuel. I had to register so no doubt you will have the same email at some point.
Yes, just seen the same email, might not bother if it's just a fixed discount, as we already get cashback on our Santander and Utility Warehouse Cashback card.
Is it necessary to drive without water? We travel with a full tank which means also not needing to go through the process of bleeding the taps of any air. Also doesn’t affect our weight limit. Just loving your videos.
I often drive with water in the tank, but it does add weight, every litre of water weighs 1kg, so a full tank is around 70kg. If your payload is low, it might be better to travel without water
If you go to a pitch that isn't level, could you film using your levelling ramps please?
A other great video, some good advice for newbies, arrived twice with you to that site but never been, How did Mrs Sat Nag perform 👍😁
She worked very well, like the warnings you get, steep hills and descents and the traffic information, all very 21st century!
Woohoo I’m famous, that’s me in the mokka coming out of the site . That middle lane has been coned off for 4 months, it’s allegedly being repaired on February 13th. Btw your sat nav is telling fibs, that road isn’t called alley.
Thanks, is it Bothwellhaigh Road?
Bob Earnshaw yes.
What sat nav are you using? it's so easy to read.
It's a Avtex Tourer Two, did a video on it a couple of weeks ago - ruclips.net/video/ezuzf1Ycc6I/видео.html
Thank you. Really do like to see the place when you arrive . We are so new to motor homing have only been to about 6 camp grounds so far. So enjoy seeing and planning trips for this year.
Great, bet you're looking forward to those trips.
Hi how much is the site with it being out of season. We are new to the club and find it very expensive but always well kept. Thanks Richie.
It would be £31.40 per night for two of us in peak season or £188.40 for 6 nights, so £10.40 more a night compared to February. Bear in mind they don't charge for extras like some sites do, for dogs, extra cars, awnings, 16amp hook up showers, satellite points, or even sometimes, visitors. If you look at the C&MC website site's details, you can see the charges for the different periods.
Bob Earnshaw thanks for your swift response, great info. Have a great time and keep up the good work. We love following. Cheers. Richie.
Did poppy say YEP?
Yep 😁
Hi Bob, I’m just getting the tow a frame system fitted by Martyn, when towing do you normally fill the van up without the car attached? I assume it’s much easier navigating in and out of the petrol stations?
We have done it at larger stations, but usually try to fill up the motorhome on it's own.
Jenny was the guilty one for starting Poppy off , when she mentioned the word walk several times . At least Poppy is persistent.
Yes, we forget what we said, Poppy doesn't! 😁
178/8940 = 2%
Your camera work is fabulous, though.
..... why is it that I find it hard to make friends?
you are moaning about the weather stop as it is very good
Yes, we've had some wonderful weather in Scotland.
...Minster Products....
Do you use the Taylor Made screen when the van is parked up at home? I've just bought a Taylor Made screen
No, I only use it when we are away. When there's no one in the motorhome there's no condensation on the windows, so I don't need it.
Ok, thanks.
hi bob i have got to ask why do you go that way to go to scotland its got to be 20 miles or so longer than going through preston ,,did your sat nav take you that way or do you stop somewhere on the way ?
Because I'm not keen on getting stuck driving through Southport or Preston or even Ormskirk. All our sat navs have recommended the A5758 since it was built. The travel holdup there was only light and temporary.
