It's sad really, gargoyles is one of if not the best show to come out of the 90s possibly ever and yet it's so underrated and almost no one seems to have heard of it
It really isn't. Try watching it as an adult, and you'll see it's actually pretty bad and you're just looking back on it with sentimentality. The best cartoons of the 90s that actually hold up even now, were The Tick, Garfield and Friends, Ren and Stimpy, The Real Ghostbusters (though that was mostly in the 1980s), and of course Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles. Honorable mentions go to Eek the Cat, Beetlejuice, The Mask, Project GeeKeR, and Pinky and the Brain.

This kind of fiction was just barely believable, because everyone has seen a stone statue before. They were scary, but it was for scaring people away from your home, They were a good kind of scary monster, that was a unique concept in the 90s. Reminds me of the scare crow in the corn fields, to ward against birds eating your corn stalks, back before farming was done with machinery. . *Gargoyles offer a valid service, really.* "I will scare thieves/murderers away, so that you may sleep soundly, during the night." And Then, All they ask in return, is that your actions during the daytime, doesn't cause any of the statues to break or shatter. Yeah, but that could still work now. This is a day and age where Hollywood tries to make anything scary from plants to Christmas. Add that to the act that this is also the day and age where every second movie to come out is a superhero movie and Disney makes a win win. Any death battle where it's one sided because they are god status taking on regular anime swordsman is boring. 5. Ichigo and kenpachi are both technically dead. Akuma has no problem killing something that is dead but sasuke does. Everything else is pretty interesting

Storm (X-Men) vs Cole MacGrath (Infamous) Both have the powers of elements and are respectfully very powerful and almost immune to each others attacks. Cole may not be able to generate his own electricity but his able to take a great amount from his surroundings, say an electric strike from Storms natural ability to generate lightning from the sky or body. Storm has spent most of her life with her abilities whereas Cole became exposed to them. Both have been thieves in their lives and good physical and combatant skills.

Even though she had been affected by lightning she didn't create herself in the past, with her experiences with the x men have since given her near immunity and able to redirect electric attacks. She can create other weather anomalies like tornadoes, hail storms, and potentially a hurricane. She would also be immune to temperature changes as she can warm up or cool down when necessary.
Erik Palomera actually no. in the games he has a maximum charge and anything over doesn't do anything but heal him, my guess is any extra energy discharges naturally. plus he has extra abilities that require no lightning charge i believe...known as "ionic power" first theres a massive and continuous lightning strike he can call from the sky. in the first game this ability drained him alot but he could still maintain it for a good while. not to mention he could move this massive lightning strike at will. it was basically his ultimate power. however he lost this ability at the beginning of the second game. but recovered it as a ionic ability that required a ionic charge instead of his usual electric power however this version he cant move. another ionic power is a sort of electric-charged tornado. that shocks and tosses people around. he can use his electricity in a variety of ways such as electric grenades (lost but recovered) electric rockets (lost but recovered) an electric shield (lost permanently but a ice shield in the second game can replace it if you make the right decisions) and many others. this isin't all he can do however as towards middle of the second game he has the choice to gain the powers of quo (ice) or nix (some fire-type power but i cant quite remember the specifics) depending on which you chose Cole gets all their powers as well as new ionic abilities such as a ionic ability that causes a massive amount of ice spikes to come jutting out of the ground infront of him in a sort of wave. or if he got the fire power .he could use a ionic ability which drains the lifeforce of those around him. recharging cole and leaving his enemies nothing more than chared corpses.
***** Awesome. This guy sounds intense, but it looks like he has his limits. Storm has been known to change the atmospheric pressure around her. Storm's power over air pressure has also been used to crush powerful objects such as skrull warships. She has even created pressure (on earth) higher than that found on Jupiter. She has been able to do energy manipulation from the elements around her. She once made winds so strong that it made the some buildings and even Hulk soar away. There was also a point that she lost control of her powers to the point where she almost made a world-wide ice age. Also, Storm has been able to manipulate plasma, solar winds, and electromagnetic energy to enhance her powers. When she was in outerspace, she was able to manipulate the solar winds. If far from a star, it would take strong concentration to use this power, so, she can almost always depend on her flying abilities to take her high up in the sky. Although, what Storm lacks in powers compared to Cole, she makes up for with experience and knowledge of her powers. She has fought against many villains and powerful beings, such as the Brotherhood, Apocalypse, Hulk, and other Marvel beings. Her years training with the X-Men gave her more hand to hand combat abilities and arsenal knowledge. She has even developed a strong will power so that she may not be as affected by telepathy attacks.
Erik Palomera yeah...but cole still stands a fair chance. but someone else in the infamouse universe stands a even greater chance against storm....and that would be Delsin Rowe the protagonist of Infamous Second son. his power is to copy the powers of another on touch. however this has far less limits than Rougue's version. he for example keeps the powers of everyone he has copy'd over the course of his game this gave him a far greater variety of powers than cole ever had. the abilities delsin has so far are Smoke,Neon,Video and concrete. every single one coming with its own respective abilities. however he does have limits as well. he can only switch powers by absorbing the respective element from a suitable source. unlike cole who could use Electricity And his other powers without needing to absorb different sources. and when he copy's anothers power. i believe he pretty much loses everything untill he gets used to his new powers.....well actually that only happened once and that was with video a believe. but he still only gets basic abilities and has to unlock the rest. its also worth noting that he looks into the memories as well. (unintentionally mind you...) usually geting a better understanding of the person whos power he absorbed.
Using an obvious weakness would be way too much of a cop-out to do. You know that if that was how it was going to end, no one would have been satisfied with the conclusion.

Man was that fight a let down. Two super hero legends and their fight is ended by a conveniently placed lamp-post. I'm not really a die-hard fanboy, and i can see either character losing to the other, but that was a lazy excuse to have a short fight.

They just need a battle with Hulk and one with Wolverine and all the Marvel fans can be fully satisfied. On the DC side, Green Lantern, Flash and Aquaman need a battle to fulfil the DC quota. The trinity has already been displayed but the lower trinity needs some love to. And Aang NEEDS a DeathBattle. I was never a big Captain Planet fan so I don't know if he is the perfect opponent but he does seem to be slightly better then Edward Elric. Ed is not at that almost godly level that Aang and the Captain are.

Interesting detail that didn't make it into the rundown: During one of the Avalon trip episodes: It's explicitly stated, when Goliath, Eliza, Angela, and Bronx wind up meeting Anubis (it's complicated) that gargoyles age at half the human rate. So considering Goliath's _visual_ age in comparison to human, that "more combat experience than Beast" is quite a bit more. Now I'm writing a headcanon where this whole fight was something Demona set up because she knew Beast was getting close to something Demona wants hidden, and Demona learned Xanatos wanted to hire Beast. So she secretly set it up so Goliath wound up thinking Beast was a threat when he was just waiting for his interview. (Which would royally tick off Xanatos and Goliath, but Demona doesn't have a good record of thinking that far ahead, or considering that events might have conclusions that are not beneficial to her. Fox isn't the genius Xanatos is and still thinks rings around Demona.)
comicking428 Wait, what? That's a terrible match for a fight. Solid Snake would kick Sam's ass because Sam isn't really as good at combat. He's skilled, sure, but his main talents lie in stealth work. Meanwhile Snake can mow down legions of elite, genetically augmented soldiers if he wants to, and has taken on people with various superpowers as well as GIANT MECHA all by himself. Unless Sam can find some way to sneak around during a fight, he's completely boned, because he's basically one of the GenoSoldiers that Snake eats for breakfast in terms of combat ability.

I'm gonna write a fan-made Death Battle episode involving Gargoyles: Gremlins vs Gargoyles. 80s humanoid creatures with a weakness to light vs 90s humanoid creatures with a weakness light. Also, they both have names starting with the letter G. I'm pretty sure the will Gargoyles stomp, what with them having major strength, speed, stamina, durability, and experience advantages, even if it takes place in an environment with plenty of water, which the Gremlins use to reproduce and propagate their species, giving them the strength in numbers advantage, and the Gargoyles also have the edge in teamwork, whereas the Gremlins don't work nearly as well together. Actually taking a hit from an AA gun and surviving isn't as big as you think. First issue is based on the type of AA gun. .50 cal, 20mm, tend to fire Armor Piercing Incendiary Tracers. Rapid fire 25, 30, 35, and 37mm and 40mm more often then not however fire High explosive and High Explosive Fragmentation. larger cal AA guns, such as single shot 37+ tend to fire HE rounds almost exclusively that damage or destroy aircraft by HE blast or HE + fragments, called Flak. The difference is... while for example a 20mm cannon firing API rounds might penetrate as much as 27mm of steel... and be able to injure Goliath easy... a direct hit from a much larger 57mm HE round might only penetrate 8mm effective. Based on how tough Goliath skin is High explosive rounds would throw him around, but wouldn't really hurt him the way an AP round does and would.

If given no time for preparation Danny would undoubtedly have a great advantage, but given time for preparation Jake would become a much more imposing foe for him.

It really isn't. Try watching it as an adult, and you'll see it's actually pretty bad and you're just looking back on it with sentimentality. The best cartoons of the 90s that actually hold up even now, were The Tick, Garfield and Friends, Ren and Stimpy, The Real Ghostbusters (though that was mostly in the 1980s), and of course Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles. Honorable mentions go to Eek the Cat, Beetlejuice, The Mask, Project GeeKeR, and Pinky and the Brain.

This kind of fiction was just barely believable, because everyone has seen a stone statue before. They were scary, but it was for scaring people away from your home, They were a good kind of scary monster, that was a unique concept in the 90s.
Reminds me of the scare crow in the corn fields, to ward against birds eating your corn stalks, back before farming was done with machinery.

5. Ichigo and kenpachi are both technically dead. Akuma has no problem killing something that is dead but sasuke does.

Both have the powers of elements and are respectfully very powerful and almost immune to each others attacks. Cole may not be able to generate his own electricity but his able to take a great amount from his surroundings, say an electric strike from Storms natural ability to generate lightning from the sky or body. Storm has spent most of her life with her abilities whereas Cole became exposed to them. Both have been thieves in their lives and good physical and combatant skills.
Erik Palomera lets not forget that electric attacks dont even hurt cole. they charge him XD and a actual lightning storm SUPER CHARGES him.

Even though she had been affected by lightning she didn't create herself in the past, with her experiences with the x men have since given her near immunity and able to redirect electric attacks. She can create other weather anomalies like tornadoes, hail storms, and potentially a hurricane. She would also be immune to temperature changes as she can warm up or cool down when necessary.
Erik Palomera actually no. in the games he has a maximum charge and anything over doesn't do anything but heal him, my guess is any extra energy discharges naturally. plus he has extra abilities that require no lightning charge i believe...known as "ionic power" first theres a massive and continuous lightning strike he can call from the sky. in the first game this ability drained him alot but he could still maintain it for a good while. not to mention he could move this massive lightning strike at will. it was basically his ultimate power. however he lost this ability at the beginning of the second game. but recovered it as a ionic ability that required a ionic charge instead of his usual electric power however this version he cant move. another ionic power is a sort of electric-charged tornado. that shocks and tosses people around.
he can use his electricity in a variety of ways such as electric grenades (lost but recovered) electric rockets (lost but recovered) an electric shield (lost permanently but a ice shield in the second game can replace it if you make the right decisions) and many others.
this isin't all he can do however as towards middle of the second game he has the choice to gain the powers of quo (ice) or nix (some fire-type power but i cant quite remember the specifics) depending on which you chose Cole gets all their powers as well as new ionic abilities such as a ionic ability that causes a massive amount of ice spikes to come jutting out of the ground infront of him in a sort of wave. or if he got the fire power .he could use a ionic ability which drains the lifeforce of those around him. recharging cole and leaving his enemies nothing more than chared corpses.

Storm has been known to change the atmospheric pressure around her. Storm's power over air pressure has also been used to crush powerful objects such as skrull warships. She has even created pressure (on earth) higher than that found on Jupiter. She has been able to do energy manipulation from the elements around her. She once made winds so strong that it made the some buildings and even Hulk soar away. There was also a point that she lost control of her powers to the point where she almost made a world-wide ice age.
Also, Storm has been able to manipulate plasma, solar winds, and electromagnetic energy to enhance her powers. When she was in outerspace, she was able to manipulate the solar winds. If far from a star, it would take strong concentration to use this power, so, she can almost always depend on her flying abilities to take her high up in the sky.
Although, what Storm lacks in powers compared to Cole, she makes up for with experience and knowledge of her powers. She has fought against many villains and powerful beings, such as the Brotherhood, Apocalypse, Hulk, and other Marvel beings. Her years training with the X-Men gave her more hand to hand combat abilities and arsenal knowledge. She has even developed a strong will power so that she may not be as affected by telepathy attacks.
Erik Palomera yeah...but cole still stands a fair chance. but someone else in the infamouse universe stands a even greater chance against storm....and that would be Delsin Rowe the protagonist of Infamous Second son. his power is to copy the powers of another on touch. however this has far less limits than Rougue's version. he for example keeps the powers of everyone he has copy'd over the course of his game this gave him a far greater variety of powers than cole ever had. the abilities delsin has so far are Smoke,Neon,Video and concrete. every single one coming with its own respective abilities. however he does have limits as well. he can only switch powers by absorbing the respective element from a suitable source. unlike cole who could use Electricity And his other powers without needing to absorb different sources. and when he copy's anothers power. i believe he pretty much loses everything untill he gets used to his new powers.....well actually that only happened once and that was with video a believe. but he still only gets basic abilities and has to unlock the rest. its also worth noting that he looks into the memories as well. (unintentionally mind you...) usually geting a better understanding of the person whos power he absorbed.

Hulk obviously needs to be in a DeathBattle as well. We have already had Tony, Cap, Thor and Spider-Man. They just need a battle with Hulk and one with Wolverine and all the Marvel fans can be fully satisfied.
On the DC side, Green Lantern, Flash and Aquaman need a battle to fulfil the DC quota. The trinity has already been displayed but the lower trinity needs some love to.
And Aang NEEDS a DeathBattle. I was never a big Captain Planet fan so I don't know if he is the perfect opponent but he does seem to be slightly better then Edward Elric. Ed is not at that almost godly level that Aang and the Captain are.

Interesting detail that didn't make it into the rundown: During one of the Avalon trip episodes: It's explicitly stated, when Goliath, Eliza, Angela, and Bronx wind up meeting Anubis (it's complicated) that gargoyles age at half the human rate. So considering Goliath's _visual_ age in comparison to human, that "more combat experience than Beast" is quite a bit more.
Now I'm writing a headcanon where this whole fight was something Demona set up because she knew Beast was getting close to something Demona wants hidden, and Demona learned Xanatos wanted to hire Beast. So she secretly set it up so Goliath wound up thinking Beast was a threat when he was just waiting for his interview.
(Which would royally tick off Xanatos and Goliath, but Demona doesn't have a good record of thinking that far ahead, or considering that events might have conclusions that are not beneficial to her. Fox isn't the genius Xanatos is and still thinks rings around Demona.)

He's skilled, sure, but his main talents lie in stealth work. Meanwhile Snake can mow down legions of elite, genetically augmented soldiers if he wants to, and has taken on people with various superpowers as well as GIANT MECHA all by himself. Unless Sam can find some way to sneak around during a fight, he's completely boned, because he's basically one of the GenoSoldiers that Snake eats for breakfast in terms of combat ability.

I'm pretty sure the will Gargoyles stomp, what with them having major strength, speed, stamina, durability, and experience advantages, even if it takes place in an environment with plenty of water, which the Gremlins use to reproduce and propagate their species, giving them the strength in numbers advantage, and the Gargoyles also have the edge in teamwork, whereas the Gremlins don't work nearly as well together. Either way, it's gonna be a hell of a lot of fun to write.

Actually taking a hit from an AA gun and surviving isn't as big as you think. First issue is based on the type of AA gun. .50 cal, 20mm, tend to fire Armor Piercing Incendiary Tracers. Rapid fire 25, 30, 35, and 37mm and 40mm more often then not however fire High explosive and High Explosive Fragmentation. larger cal AA guns, such as single shot 37+ tend to fire HE rounds almost exclusively that damage or destroy aircraft by HE blast or HE + fragments, called Flak. The difference is... while for example a 20mm cannon firing API rounds might penetrate as much as 27mm of steel... and be able to injure Goliath easy... a direct hit from a much larger 57mm HE round might only penetrate 8mm effective. Based on how tough Goliath skin is High explosive rounds would throw him around, but wouldn't really hurt him the way an AP round does and would.

ilovetoparty1 Jake Long may not know much about magic, but his allies do and can prepare spells, potions, and other equipment for him that would aid him in a battle against immaterial foes such as ghosts. If given no time for preparation Danny would undoubtedly have a great advantage, but given time for preparation Jake would become a much more imposing foe for him.
I am surprised by the outcome, but satisfied. I guess I overestimated the loser's durability.
