Absolutely stunning. I adored Luciano Pavarotti and this performance brought a smile to my face and tears in my eyes. Rob's and Austin's voices are exquisite.
Going into this song, unlike most reactors who have been completely dumbfounded by what they were hearing, appreciate your confidence in the guys' abilities. Knew Rob had opera training many years ago. I'm not particularly a fan of opera but very familiar with this song. This has received overwhelmingly positive feedback so hope Rob and Austin...along with perhaps the rest of the Home Free guys?...will be willing to venture into more, new projects like this which can only help to expand their audience.

I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.

With the development of his voice over the last few years, he felt confident to do it and to persuade Rob (for whom he feels enormous love and respect) to resurrect his opera chops in a joint venture. They both perform magnificently, as you say, worthy of any classical concert. There is so much intelligence, expressiveness and heart in their performance.
Yes, this is insane. It is extremely good. Fantastic. Both are doing great. But Rob, I'm perplexed. His voice is just magical, so rich, so warm, so powerfull. Chills just ran through my body. It flows into my heart. For me he will be able to stand with the greatest of opera singers. It's not often that I listen to songs by opera singers 5 times and more in a row. But here it is. Of course I hope that both will always continue to do Home Free, but I wouldn't think it wrong that such "trips" are made more often. Opera, country, ballads, soul etc. I think anything is possible..

I was totally surprised, but in fairness, I didn’t know it was going to be an aria until I first saw the title of the video right before watching. Most of us knew Austin had training in musical theater so I wasn’t surprised with Austin. I didn’t know (even after being a Home Fry since their season of the Sing Off) that Rob studied and performed opera his 4 years of college. He hasn’t sang opera in 15 years, so this was beyond my expectations! Love it!
Having been around performers for over 30 years you sort of get used to ppl doing things out of the box and shocking you. All members of Home Free are so talented you just know they could be given any song and do it well :D

Technically I believe Rob is classically trained and Austin theatrically trained, but yes Rob has opera training and Austin doesn't (perhaps with the exception of some tutoring from Rob).
Just watched yours Jen as I knew when I saw it drop on Friday you'd love it and also be a tad confused by Robs voice lol It's nice they aren't scaredof trying new genres and don't just want to be considered country :D
The other thing I find most interesting about this song is that it's a tenor solo, and they're doing it as a duet! Not really an opera person, but would an opera singer have thought to even do that? These guys, and their Home Free compatriots are famous for putting their own signature on songs. I've seen it written that Home Free doesn't do covers; they do upgrades. I believe that!

Austin and Rob aren't trying to be him. Just stated " Two Country Singers Trying Opera ". Rob and Austin are part of a capella group Home Free. They cross all spectrums. Comedy, " Butts Medley ", Pop, Rock, Country, Sea Medley, Parody, Musical Theatre with Austin singing " Bring Him Home "

Being a southern gal myself, born and bred Texan, I took what he said too seriously. It took Austin awhile to convince Rob into doing this. Negative comparisons might have contributed to his reluctance to attempt this .
Yup that's what I was trying to say lol Both are great but you can tell Austin has a musical theatre tone to his voice when he steps away from the normal country genre.
@@richardlaundon A triple listen from Lyle! I saw someone from Europe comment that there seems to be more negativity from opera buffs in the US than in Europe where it seems to be common to allow for mixing genres such as this with classical X classical-crossover like what Maggie R was referencing.
