AMYAH'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

First day of middle school....(Alena) I've been worrying for years about Amyah's education, "homeschooling" her from the age of two, violin lessons at four, enrolling her in extracurricular math tutoring at five--not wanting her to fall behind while knowing that as a Black female the academic competition would be 100 times harder for her. As I grew older I have realized no matter how hard you try to do for your child, in the end you just have to trust that the Lord knows exactly what each child needs and when they need it, and He will provide for your child even when you are not searching for it.
