My brother has keratoconus and cannot use glasses or regular contact lenses, he must use RGP lenses. Unfortunately they are highly expensive but it is the only thing that allows him to see. However, if she is just doing it for aesthetics, which she never mentioned a medical condition, then yes, she doesn't need them, she is choosing them. Anyone who is humble and grateful will accept glasses if they are on someone else's dime.
Contact lenses aren’t a necessity. Glasses yes. Contacts are a luxury. I can get two pairs of glasses for less than 100 bucks online without insurance.

I swear this type of behavior is becoming more widely accepted by people nowadays and it’s annoying as hell. I am 50 years old and never once have I thought let me go online and ask people for things I need and believe me there have been times throughout my life where I was in need but it’s just not in me to ask strangers for help.
