I never realized how funny Kevin Nealon was in this format. I guess I have a new series of Conan clips to binge watch.
There have been a few comedians that I appreciate more after seeing them on Conan
Kevin on Conan's podcast is the best thing I've heard. Just goes to town.
I learned to love Norm McDonald and Bill Burr through Conan clips. Now I'm on to Kevin Nealon.
I think that Kevin Nealon's "hot chick trial" theory might actually not be insane.
It's definitely not far off from the truth. There's a phenomenon called the halo effect, where people tend to automatically infer from one known positive characteristic of somebody (such as being attractive) that they posess other positive characteristics as well, such as e.g. being a good, morally upstanding person.

its absolutely true, look at the chick that shot botham jean. she got 10 years for literal murder.
It's proven that women get lighter sentences for the same crime, even if they're not attractive. Look at school teachers having sex with kids. Women get out in a few years. Men it's basically a life sentence. So much for equality.

Nealon is such a pro and so in the moment comedically that when Conan inadvertently interrupted him mid-jazzed to sling a joke Andy’s way, Nealon gracefully conceded the mic, itched his head jovially, and continued with the momentum of the interview without ever feeling the need to callback and prove he had something more hilarious than anyone else. Now that is a perfect collision of confidence, authenticity, and comedic altruism. 😍

Kevin Nealon is one of my favorite Conan guests. He's so quick to change the focus and derail any momentum that was going in the other direction. Other notable mentions are Norm Macdonald and Bill Burr.

Many studies have shown that attractive people are perceived as intrinsically "good", people naturally associate attractiveness with "goodness". I know Kevin is joking, and being attractive doesn't mean you'll get away with anything, but it definitely helps.

Jokes and all, but statistically better looking people get lesser sentences than "ugly" folks, as well as having higher salaries and other benefits.
You could go as far to say that "ugliness" is a disability by the disadvantages it bring.
It's not surprising that people are self conscious about their appearance and feel pressured to look good, when it could be a factor that decides if you get thrown in jail or get parole.

lolpauve It's the sad and harsh truth. But we've already gone around nature a whole lot.
Natural selection still applies to us, but not even close to what it used to thousand of years ago.
We've developed medicine and safety nets for people that otherwise would've just died.
But letting potentially dangerous people get off easy, or favour them because they look nice instead of those that might be more competent(if we're talking jobs) is counterproductive to society.
Maybe the next president of the United States will be elected because he has a cute nose.
