Thank you for the tutorial; I found it very detailed and thought everything was explained thoroughly... and I never realized that freezer paper would shrink when ironed!
Watching from upstate New York. You are correct; we (households and butchers) use freezer paper for wrapping meat for the freezer, shiny side toward the meat. Thanks for the tutorial. You are appreciated :)
The blocks turn out so beautiful and accurate, it's almost hard to think about doing the patchwork in the "usual" manner! Thank you, Alaura and Monica, for the wonderful instruction. I wish for you and yours a very happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
Thanks for this tutorial Monica. I have been using this method for some time now and wondered why my blocks could be a little undersize - would make my pattern a fraction larger to compensate - it never occurred to me that freezer paper could shrink. Happy New Year and please keep up the good work.
In the US it is sold in grocery stores and it’s much cheaper than from a craft store. Here in Canada we can’t buy it anywhere, it’s really hard to find. I wish our grocery stores carried it too. Happy New Year everyone. 🎉
I, too, live in Canada, but close enough to the border that I cross over a few times a year ... I have a 75ft roll of freezer paper ... can I mail you some 8x10 sheets?? ( I would use cardboard to stiffen the envelope)
@@karena7950 oh my goodness!! What a generous offer! I really appreciate that for sure. My mother in law brought me back a roll last time she went into the US, so I also have some on hand. I just wish our Canadian grocery stores would carry it too. Thank you so much for thinking of sharing.
I use a ruler called "add a quarter ruler. It has a raised area that is a quarter inch wide. You place it on the fold and cut. The ruler doesn't slip when cutting.
I read a while back that the company was considering ending production of freezer paper but because the crafting world was in an uproar about it, they are still producing it today. 😅
I often use the paper wrap for copy paper. It has the same or similar shiny texture on the inside to help keep moisture away from the paper.😊 I’m in Australia 😊

Yes, that's great news, I'm hoping it's still available for a long time to come!
So, in Australia what is the freezer paper called?
We can buy freezer paper called that.
It’s still called freezer paper. I believe that it’s not available in the supermarket in Australia but available at quilting stores and online.
It's called freezer paper but where I live it is only available from craft shops
Thanks ladies 🙏
