Nostalgic feelings about Garf. It has had a formative impact in my young self, too. I had the opportunity to visit Garf twice in the 90’s and bring the Bonsai to Brazil. To this day it is my favourite coral due to history.

Nice sounding lights, wish they had a white setting, I'm an OLD, old school white sunlight girl, it actually made me sad to see Julian's tank in blue. Julian, how could you?! 😉 Great show guys, bittersweet ReefBum 😢

They do have a white setting, you can make them as white as you like.

I would like to see a comparison of the blueray x vs the Philips coral care v2. Obviously the coral care doesn’t have the lunar setting but sounds like they are built in the same manner.

Some people have referred Julian's tank as the example of a superb system lit by LEDs. I've always told them that the more LED fixtures per surface area, with less wattage per unit, was the way to go with LEDs. Hope this video help them to understand how application dictates success with any technology.
Just one observation... ANY artificial reef light emitted by most "reef fixtures" will be able to help anyone to have corals to spawn in captivity!! It's a mistake to say that such light will help more than others IMO. It's the application that will do the job, together with everything else. For instance, IMO, halides will help the corals to better improve their metabolism, when comparing to any other artificial light source, producing gametes with better "quality". We had 15W little incandescent bulbs in the 90's hooked to a dimmer/small computer to resemble lunar cycles, so... nothing new... Yeah, I know those lights are inducing all the seasonal effects and nocturnal influences with the app... easier now? ok... the same could be done with any other LED, though. Any light technology, to be fair. Just saying. Anyways... I don't like even these weird competition among LED fixtures/users. LOL! Again... the panels are the best LEDs in the world. The more surface area, the best coverage, which is an important part of the "lighting equation". Simple as that. Bottom line is... one could have all the equipment that is supposed to be "the best" and not achieve any success, while others could have great success with other supposedly "less favorable" equipments. Anyways...
First they used "Radion" to try to overrule Radium halides. Now they want to use "XM"??? The XM halide back in the day had one of the most amazing 10K lamps! LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist to comment on that. It was the first thing that "popped" in my mind (no pun intended!) LOL! Have fun your your lights. 👍
AAARRRGHH!!!!! Beautiful Caribbean corals!!!! Thanks for sharing the images, Colin!
    Love you guys!
I've been working a lot, and literally unable to participate in most reef related online channels. It was a pleasure to see this stream on Monday, my half day off. Sadly, I just found out that Rappin' with ReefBum will come to an end. It's amazing how all great things in life have to end like this. All the best to you, Keith! Thanks for all the hard work! Keep posting your Acro colonies, though!
