Way back in 2016 my community college hosted a haunted house on campus, I asked to be put in charge of the music for the haunted house. So I fired up my Bandcamp library where I played various Cryo Chamber artists for the music inside our, "haunted house," which was really just a classroom sectioned off with bloody sheets lol Anyway, it was a huge success and everyone loved the ambience! I know a few of my friends ended up following the bandcamp page. Have loved your stuff for many years now, trying to wrap up owning all of the vinyl (I will one day). Anyway thanks for making this mix, it's amazing as always. Ended up buying the digital wallpaper because I didn't know THAT was a thing until today. Thanks for all you do Simon!
For anyone interested, you can search up Chant And Polyphony From 12th Century France by Ensemble Lionheart to play together with this, and you would get quite an incredible experience.
I'm reading Clive Barker's _The Hellbound Heart_ and it's sequel book _The Scarlet Gospels_ and this ambiance is a delicious supplement to the imagination, grasps my mind's eye and pulls it down into the depths of Leviathan's fortress labyrinth midst the sprawling, screaming, cackling, groaning cityscape of dismal Hell.
@@ElRealPetChicken I get that you're probably joking and, my compliments because, I did get a laugh or two out of this but...that being said, if you're serious, all you have to do is start small then work yourself up to more advanced material. I dropped out of college in 2019 and've been working odd jobs here and there, basically only making enough to feed myself, entertain myself, and keep my studio apartment. I convinced myself through prior academic failure that I didn't know how to learn and was thus useless and would never be good at school. I however, wanted to be better at reading, to have the confidence to tackle dense subject matter with ability to comprehend, enjoy, and teach it to others when conversing about my latest literary discovery. I began by asking myself what I loved to read as a boy then began checking Goosebump books out at the library, ostensibly for my nephew if anyone asked but, secretly, for _me._ From there, I started reading teen novels like _Twilight_ (I liked imagining it from Edward's perspective, don't judge) and _The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd._ I then started picking up Stephen King novels like _Pet Sematary_ and _Carrie._ From there I graduated to Lovecraft and his contemporaries and now I read most anything. @@Mr.Ambrose_Dyer_Armitage_Esq. I’m not sure if this makes a difference to you, but just so you know; I clicked on this video for no particular reason the other day, and after a couple of minutes was about to click off but scrolled to the comments. I saw your comment regarding the hellbound heart, and with it being a slow day at work, immediately googled the text and read it cover to cover whilst listening to this video in its entirety. I really enjoyed it and didn’t even realise (until I got to the bit with the pinheaded cenophite) that it was the inspiration for Hellraiser. Thanks for keeping me on the page and expanding my interest in something I never knew would have appealed to me. I’m typing this as I sit on my sofa (after a couple of beers) and I’ve just rented the movie on prime to see if it holds a candle or not. I also massively, massively agree with your comment to the other user. I’ve recently started reading again after studying literature and film at university. Uni wasn’t a great place for me and whilst I did manage to complete the degree I swore off novels entirely and, much like some kind of literary Scrooge, declared to myself that reading was a waste of time. This was obviously reactionary to my experiences with critics over my time at university and not a rational response at all, but I’m older now and thankfully I was lead to a text that made me reevaluate. The book that really turned everything around for me personally, and I feel I should mention it because of what you are saying about challenging yourself as a reader, is Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian. If you can stomach the hellbound heart, you’re about 1/2 of the way to being able to roll with McCarthy, and I strongly suggest you give it a go. The prose is very brutal and hard to follow, and the plot is, at the best of times, vile, but some of the themes and revelations in the story are an ample reward for those who persevere. Just wanted to get all this out as I’d been thinking about your comment for a couple of days. Thanks for showing me the hellbound heart and I hope you enjoy/try blood meridian if you get the chance/haven’t read it already 👍🏼
@@horsethief822 Thanks for the recommendation. I have to drop by the book store for Christmas shopping and I'll see if they have a copy. I'll read it when I get the chance and I got a Post-It note here so I don't forget to let you know what I thought. Happy you enjoyed _Hellbound Heart,_ it really is something else and I'm keen to gnaw on Barker's other works.
The compelling power of dark pictorial art and dark musical art lies in challenging outdated notions of the role of traditionally-perceived beauty in art. Hence, in dark art, beauty transgresses the visual boundary and evolves. Beauty becomes humanism expressed in the capacity of synthesizing ideas, and in distilling beauty from unusual sources and unexplored feelings. The artist's preoccupation with the psyche, with the human condition, with the state of our world is expressed in ways more vibrant and heartfelt than through the lens of socially-accepted norms and perceptions of art.
While many would consider this dark and creepy i find beautiful in particular twisted foetus put me in a trance like state absolutely master class upload thank you
Atrium Carceri - A Stroll Through the Ancient City track reminds me of the chase and fight scene soundtrack of the corrupted Laura from Evil Within where you have to activate fire traps to destroy her.
Thanks for the mix, perfectly fitting artwork with great intricate detail throughout, petrifying. Love a lot of the old AC (as well as newer stuff, of course!) Great song selection!

"...And so it came to pass that the Countess, who once bathed in the rejuvenating blood of a hundred virgins, was buried alive...And her castle in which so many cruel deeds took place fell rapidly into ruin. Rising over the buried dungeons in that god-forsaken wilderness, a solitary tower, like some monument to Evil, is all that remains. The Countess' fortune was believed to be divided among the clergy, although some say that more remains unfound, still buried alongside the rotting skulls that bear mute witness to the inhumanity of the human creature." - The Moldy Tome
This is absolutely fantastic, has a lot of my favorites. You're such a talented artist, and it's always an honor to be able to listen to your work - and right on time for Halloween!
Wonderful stuff. The music Cryo Chamber always gets my thinking of Halloween prop making and is always playing while doing so. Just wish you guys had your ‘live stream’ going. Past 2 years I’ve played it outside on Halloween night in my haunt.
Me after menstruation. ♥️ Anyway, this is beautiful, Cryo. Perfect for the Halloween spirit and some dark story writing. The music on your channel is worth playing on loud speakers. You know, I may do just that. And Happy Halloween in advance. 👻🎃
I like that record cover ... music sounds like it would work for a textural element for a horror flick .. but I can't actually sit and listen to this. Great cover art though for sure.

Old-school Atrium Carceri is the best!
This album and artwork both go hard.
THAT ARTWORK IS MAGNIFICIENT!
Who is it by? It is superb 👌🤌🫶
Nothing "magnificent" about demonic Ritual/Sacrificial bloodletting ... IMO
This old school vibe at Atrium Carceri is excellent!
best artwork I have ever seen
The palette of the artwork is so perfect for horror.
This artwork has strong Cruelty and the Beast vibes
Hell Yeah Cradle of Filth!!!! \m/
I think this may have been inspired by Elizabeth Bathory, as was Cruelty and the Beast.

She's beautiful. At first glance, I thought she was Jesus....stunning piece.Thank you! ❤❤❤❤
28:29 - "You must construct additional pylons".
Great pairing for my first read through of Vampire Hunter D.

There is beauty within despair. I think the most dark things are the most real which is what we are drawn to.
Powerful vibes.
This picture is stunning
Seishinbyouin - Victim... holy moly! ❤
I just found out that thos artist also did the OST for the game Mortal Shell. Awesome!
The mix is flawless, so eerie and with inserted spoken words/extracts. Just the way I love it.
Love the artwork and music it's wonderful to hear
Excellent playlist. Even better is it opens with the song that got me hooked on Atrium Carceri.
Maintenance Tunnels and Stroll Through The Ancient City are absolute masterpieces.
I'm writing a very tense scene in my new story, and this wonderful compilation is perfect, and right on time, too. Thank you!
this goes hard. very good acid trip material here.
Good music. The cover is awesome too.
