      My theory is this. Alpharius is dead, omegon leads the legion. Omegon knows the cabals 'prophecy' but chose option 3. He keeps chaos and the imperium at war, with no winner. The imperium lives. It does not die, it does not stay in stagnation exactly. He thinks there's no better way.

    Alpharius would get his taste smacked out of his mouth if malcador found out through the warp that his son went against his other father. I could never see Alpharius being disloyal after being raised by malcador and big E personally, along with a competitive rivalry with his older brother Valdor. Also remember the great name swap.

    I found this on one video of Alpha Legion: Both Alpharius and Omegon only pretended to believe the cabal. They actually planned to sabotage the Traitors from within.
    The thing is, they both made this decision separately, and neither of them knew the other was pretending. The Alpha Legions' secretive and scheming nature had begun to work against it. Even if they had been honest with each other, they wouldn't have believed each other.
    But they both found ways to discretely help the Loyalists. Alpharius launched an early attack against Terra before the rest of the Traitor Legions arrived, which helped Dorn identify and fix all the planet's weak points. Omegon was sent to recruit Jaghatai Khan to the traitors, but instead provoked a fight with the White Scars so that Jaghatai would go off on his own to find his own answers. And when Alpharius and Dorn fought, Alpharius outright offered to throw the match and help Dorn achieve victory, but Dorn just ignored him and killed him.

      What if it was all planned by Malcador and the Big E all along. The whole heresy,everything,what if they and Alpharius plotted this whole thing out in secret with Alpharius being the only one of the primarchs to know of the whole ordeal. • @Bobrob1597
      @Bobrob1597 10 месяцев назад

      @@Nempo13I think it’s a bit more 4D chess than that. The Alpha Legion have been known to swap minds with other astarties to better sell lies. For instance what if one of them ran into Mangus and he did a little bit of mind probing. While Alpharius and Omegon can block their minds from being read, what if Mangus or Big Daddy E were able to get around it? A mind swap would be the secret within the secret further protecting their identity. So I truly believe that while Alpharius fell vs Dawn, it was only the body of Alpharius but the mind of Omegon. That’s why when Alpharius died, Omegon had a massive physic backlash from it. Not because his other half died, but because his original body died. Lastly they had the knowledge of the mind swap psychically removed from their memories. Within their minds is a code word that would unlock their memories, this code hasn’t been uttered in 10,000 years.

    After reading Praetorian of Dorn and the Alpharius novel, I feel like there are hints that the Alpharius found on Terra, and the Omegon found during the Rangdan Xenocides, swapped names after meeting each other. Some of the evidence to reach this conclusion involves the fact that in the Alpharius novel, Omegon was found with and used the Pale Spear, despite Alpharius himself usually being depicted as wielding this spear. Also, in the Horus Heresy book The Primarchs, in the novella The Serpent Beneath, "Omegon" inexplicably regards his own oddly private, completely unmarked suit of armor, which to me seems like a telling memento or reminder of the Ghost Legion (the Alpha Legion before they found Omegon).
    The more deceptive or Imperium-friendly acts usually attributed to Omegon seem to be more in line with how Alpharius claims he was taught on Terra in the Alpharius novel (taught how to fool others' senses of their perception of him, supposedly founded the blood games, etc.). In contrast, Alpharius outside of this novel seems more callous of human life, as well as more direct and confrontational, blowing up an actual settlement in the previously mentioned The Serpent Beneath novella, and actually coming to blows with Dorn and seemingly losing his cool; this behavior seems more in line with the Omegon from the Alpharius novel, who would not have received Malcador's training and is most likely the primarch who assaulted Horus' flagship.
    As confusing as this probably is, I think there's quite a bit of evidence to suggest they simply swapped their names after finding each other. This would mean that the "true" Alpharius, the one found on Terra, is the one still alive, under the guise of being Omegon.
    When it comes to the Alpha Legion, at least there's always more fuel to put on the speculation fire.

      "The End and the Death" does not confirm they are loyalist. Rather it gives an explanation for why the Alpha Legion is so confused. They had 3 contingency plans, as mentioned above, all trained into the minds of Alpha Legion agents. These marines were not activated all at once, and each was given a different directive. One Legionare ran Xenophon, the plan that makes him loyalist, while Ingo Pech ran on the traitor activation code. They do not confirm them as traitors or loyalists, rather those who fought in the heresy were running on contingency plans that only the Alpha Legion librarians and chaplins could deactivate. There all dead, and the Alpha Legion was basically at eachothers throats.

Most alpha legionaries don't know why they fight, but the warband that keeps doing the "I am Alpharius" thing are actually led by Alpharius himself and when necessary the alpha legion will sacrifice its traitor warbands and They will unite under the command of Alpharius in favor of the emperor in the last and great battle against chaos

After investigating and the truth being confirmed, he was still in disbelief as were the 1st 6 found brothers they would then discuss who would join horus, malcador questioned leman too, which the emperor replied, russ never so he designed certain primarchs he needed most to never falter. Horus was incredibly jealous of each of his newfound brothers, even valdor, who he saw as an illegitimate son not worthy of his fathers attention. I still think Omegon was the traitor, and it was Omegon who died on Pluto's moon. I think he just hijacked the Alpharius Identity because nobody knew about Omegon and he needed legion loyalty. Why would the first found primarch personally raised by Malcador ever betray the Imperium. Going along and being a double agent is the very type of thing Malcador would've taught him, not to mention that was the whole purpose of the Alpha legion to begin with. But, Malcador didn't raise Omegon. Also the weird alien artifact spear was Omegons weapon he found on whatever crazy ass alien world he landed on. The Alpharius that died was wielding that spear. Alpharius being the first found also would've known all his brothers the best albeit from a distance and would've known Dorn wouldn't entertain a supposed traitor. Omegon however likely didn't have that knowledge. I don't even think Omegon was necessarily a traitor, he just didn't play the same game as Alpharius and Malcador. I personally am all for Alpharius showing up out of nowhere saving the Imperium G-man losing his mind only to be psychically backhanded by the Emperor and told that's his most loyal son and the only one that did what he was told.😅

    In the Alpharius book Alpharius took up the role of Omegon, also why would Omegon be the loyal one? He has spent less time with the Emperor and Malcador and would not have a reason to be loyal to them so there's a far larger chance that Omegon was the traitor and Alpharius was the loyalist.

They are very similar to the loyal chapters in that they have lost most of their legion knowledge and the only unifying goal they have is the destruction of the Imperium. They don't really know why their ancestors joined the traitor legions but they are still following their commands

    I always feel like when people talk about the Alpha Legion, Head of the Hydra is completely ignored. I mean yes, all records lie, but who tells us the same doesn't go for any other books. The main theme I took away from Head of the Hydra however was: Alpharious was always aware that, all things considered, he as a person is not important. That Omegon isn't important. The only thing that matters is which options they set up and ultimately chose to execute.
    Especially Alpharious lived his whole live in the shadows, as a non-existent person. The mathematical unknown nobody could calculate with. Always bordering with his actions near heresy, since the duty that was imposed on him by Malcador was, to protect humanity. Whatever the cost! Ironically, this made him in my opinion the most unlikely to fell to chaos. He had just one obligation, and if this meant to seemingly betray humanity, to be able to protect it more effectly, so be it. Nobody had liked him anyway, really. It was the perfect cover. Because, of course even Alpharius nor Omegon could predict who would come out on top ulitmately. The only thing they knew for certain was, that they had to prevent both prophecies of the cabaal from happening, because both would mean the end for humanity. The problem regarding the death of one of them was, I think, that they realized that fighting a primarch wasn't something they could impose on anyone else. And so, one has to die so the other one can continue the work. Setting cogs in motion, placing small seeds so they may be reaped when time is due. And when the Arch enemy tries it's final blow, they will probably be there.
    Aside from all the Lore-Discussion, we also should not forget that the Alpha Legion is basically a perfect plot device for GW. All the trash talk aside, with them dispersing their forces basically on any possible outcome, they made sure whatever happens, they'll come out on top. And with some people claming that GW has written the universe into a corner, I can see them picking the Alpha Legion as a literal deus ex machina to resolve that. Hell, they could just one day appear with a million trained and fitted space marines they created themselves with the untainted gene seed, crushing the tyranid invasion short of terra or something as far as potential storytelling is concerned. Wether this is disiarable or not is a whole different story.

    I'm always on the side that Omegon was the one that died to Dorn. Alpharius wearing unique battle plate and going on to 1v1 an opponent just isn't his MO. He takes to the field personally to ensure a plan or objective is met, but that's usually with him hiding who he is really. There's also the fact for his upbringing he was already in command of his legion, and controlling it from the shadows. Then there's Omegon who was raised alone on some planet and likes to wield unique battle plate and weapons. Basically Alpharius is more of the type to keep his direct involvement to minimum while Omegon would one to confront someone directly. In the Alpharius book we even end off with Alpharius arranging for Omegon to meet Horus to mark the official return of the 20th Primarch. Hence why I think Omegon was the one to charge dick first into Dorn only to have it sawn off.
    One theory that I've been brewing is that Alpharius was still the one to be traitor while Omegon loyalist, however Omegon's death/actions made Alpharius realize that the cabal's prediction is no longer valid and turned back loyalist.

    Alpharius 2nd tried to convince Dorn of his cause, something Omegon 1st, formerly Alpharius, would have known better than to try with Dorn.

  • @DanielWW2
    @DanielWW2 10 месяцев назад

    My personal head cannon these days is that Rogal Dorn fought and killed Omegon, who was pretending to be Alpharius.
    Omegon who was in fact Alpharius, didn't fight and got killed by Guilliman. He is still around and secretly is still a loyalist who occasionally helps the Imperium in the most Alpha Legion way possible. The Alpha Legion meanwhile has largely fractured with some elements being loyalist who still take directions from Alpharius. Meanwhile the traitor elements of the legion, occasionally also take directions from Alpharius who plays the game and sacrifices lesser Imperial holdings to keep up appearances and enable the loyalist Alpha Legion to keep secretly helping the Imperium.
    I feel this way because Alpharius was the only Primarch actually raised by the Emperor and Malcador. And the line of thinking that Alpharius/Omegon displays, is arguably what you would get if you get raised by mainly Malcador. It also fits with all the Primarchs being very heavily influenced by their upbringing. In general they all seem to have been designed by the Emperor to be very impressionable on top of certain traits being designed into their genetics. A bit like taking the nature vs. nurture debate in humans, but taking both elements to the extreme. Then again, Primarchs are extreme "human" beings in all regards. Not just their physique or abilities, but also they way they function. They are humans, but where as most individual humans occupy a small part of the entire spectrum of what defines humanity, the individual Primarchs, tend to cover a very broad spectrum of human emotions, thinking patterns and other elements indeed.
    It quite frankly also clever writing which makes Primarchs, potentially such interesting characters.

    My read of the whole Heresy time Alpha Legion is this: Alpharius was the first found, the Emperors shadow.
    Alpharius found Omegon whom was from much move hostile environment resulting more brutish version of Alpharius.
    Alpharius was loyal, Omegon traitor. It was Omegon who died at the hands of Dorn (He had Omegon's armor, spear and arrogance). Alpharius was more subtle than Omegon. Guilliman claims he has killed "Omegon" but I don't believe on that one since it's just mentioned in a codex or something very briefly.
    40K Alpha legion is vastly different, they are in my eyes half actual traitors and half loyalists. Ghost legion is traitor for sure and they have disawoved the twins but then for example Hydras are Loyal. They do heretical shit but they do it for the Emperor and are always looking the bigger picture much like back in 30k era under Alpharius.
