Cafe Tacuva is a Big Biger Band of México excelent Band of 90's I'm a Big fan and the Warning they are Big fans too and now I'm a Big fan of TW😂 🤟😎🖤♨️⚡🇲🇽
Ale has great taste for sure. Eres by Cafe Tacvba brings back some very fond memories of my College days. This just one more example of the vast repertoire of influences that DPA have under their wings. They have studied and have mastered the classics of the English speaking Rock as well as some of their counter parts in the Spanish Speaking Rock. Just more ammunition for their creative minds. Saludos from LA.
Very nice song, I can see why Ale loves it so much. And a very enjoyable music video, I'm not fluent in Spanish but I think it presented the sentiment of the song perfectly. Thanks for sharing this Glenn!
Café Tacvba is one of the favorite bands, not only of Ale, but also of Dani and Pau. They don't mention that often in their interviews in english, probably because they know that most of their english-speaking fans haven't heard about them. But when the interview is in Spanish, they do mention Café Tacvba as one of their all time favorite bands. There are videos of the three of them attending to Café Tacvba's concerts and enjoying it a lot. "Eres" is a beautiful rock ballad composed and sung by Meme del Real and produced by the two times Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla, but perhaps the song by Café Tacvba that DPA likes the most is "Volver a comenzar". There are videos of them in their house and soundchecks jamming "Volver a comenzar". Some facts about Café Tacvba: They are an alternative rock band formed in 1989 in Ciudad Satélite (CDMX Metro Area). Their members are Meme del Real (keyboards, guitarist and occasionally lead singer), the brothers Joselo Rangel (guitarist) and Quique Rangel (bassist) and Rubén Albarrán (guitarist and main singer). Meme sings "Eres", but Rubén sings most of the songs of the band. Café Tacvba have been nominated 4 times to the Grammy Awards, winning 1 Grammy. Besides they've won 9 Latin Grammy Awards. Without any doubts Café Tacvba is one of the biggest acts in the Spanish-Speaking World. BTW if you want to know more about the pachuco subculture, I recommend you to watch the movie "Zoot Suit" with Edward James Olmos directed by Luis Valdez.
Ale has some really great taste in music....loved this, especially the orchestral version, really well done. Thanks Glenn. The Ladies choices in music are quite enlightening. Cheers.
The lyrics of this song are beautiful. "Eres" by Café Tacvba. Verse 1 you are What I most want in this world, you are My deepest thought also you are Just tell me what to do, here you have me you are When I wake up, the first thing, you are What my life. Chorus 1 What else can I tell you? Maybe I can lie to you without reason But what I feel today It's that without you I'm dead, because you are What I most want in this world, you are Verse 2 You are The time that I share, you are What people promise when they love each other My salvation, my hope, and my faith I am The one who wants to love you like nobody else, I am The one who would bring you sustenance day after day, day after day The one who would give his life for you, that's me. Chorus 2 I am here by your side And I wait here sitting until the end You haven't imagined What I've waited for you, because you are What I love in this world you are Every minute what I think about, you are What I care for most in this world, you are. Ale, She has an extraordinary sense of musical appreciation, she identifies with profound lyrics, just like her sisters. Vivan!!! "Las Wawas" Saludos desde Mexico, Amigo!🤘😎.
Definitivamente una gran canción en Latinoamérica. La letra es lo más significativo , es muy emocional, expresa un gran amor hacia una persona en especial. Excelente reacción, veo con frecuencia sus análisis. Buen trabajo
Fantastic serie, you guys! Hope someday you try a cover of “Eres” on piano. That would be amazing! Love that you go little deep into the music the ladies picked up, specially the ones you are familiar with. Cheers from Mexico.
“Meme” de Real is not the best singer but is one of the best musicians in Latin America… he is also a great producer, so much feeling in his compositions!… actually the four of Café Tacvba are awesome also individually
The Scorcese movie you mentioned - Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More - is quite the dark film. It makes some sense DPA might be familiar with it. The film's anti-drug message makes it effective as a cautionary tale.
Feel like I’ve heard this song somewhere before. Has it ever been in the background on one of The Warning’s videos or insta stories or maybe even used in a TV show/Movie 🤔
It’s a very successful song worldwide and one of the old greatest Latin American rock bands that still play. You probably heard it somewhere else as well. It’s also one of the favorite bands of Dany, Pau and Ale so I wouldn’t be shocked they used multiple of Cafe Tacvba songs in their vlogs.
Great! Excelente reacción con dos versiones. Me gustó!
Man that orchestral version sounds great, the brass and string sections just so much better than mixed synth FX . and guys voice nice smooth along with it. I think The Warning ladies enjoy studying whatever sounds good period, they are very diverse in their listening choices. Dany mentioned Nickel Creek a folk/bluegrass band. They have amazing harmonies . Thanks for doing these bands DPA mentioned, very cool idea.
The Warning do a cover of the song “volver a comenzar” by Cafe Tacvba during this sound check: ruclips.net/video/X4_LUuZbIrU/видео.html Starts at one minute thirty seconds and ends a two minutes thirty five seconds.
I prefer the orchestral version named MTV Unplugged. He is not the main singer, the main singer has an amazing voice, if you want to hear him check out the song Volcán - Life 2013, About the Pachuco movement, check the song Chilanga Banda. There is another band very popular that also plays that style: Maldita Vecindad.
Hello amigo, the “article” where you read that Cafe Tacuva represent the Pachuco, is wrong, the band who does represents the Pachuco style is Maldita Vecindad y Los Hijos del Quinto Patio. I tell you this because you said your not familiar with the Pachuco, so if you rely on Cafe Tacuva to know what a Pachuco is you’ll get the wrong idea, they have touched some Pachuco references, but not even close to how Maldita Vecindad portrays the Pachuco kind of life. Both different bands and great bands for sure. Gracias!!! And of course Viva The Warning, lovely sisters.
Great tune. I agree it was better without the orchestra, although I think I would have liked the orchestra-backed performance better had it not dominated the singer at times (accompany rather than perform), and if the strings had played more in tune. Enjoyed your improv on the keyboard, by the way!
This is likelly their most commercially succesful song but, by no means does it represent te type of band they are. If I may, pelease chrck out a Colaboration performance they did for an MTV Music Latín Awards along side Incubus. By The way, their oficial front man was not present on the second video you watched.
Never been a Café Tacvba fan, nor will I ever be, just not my cup of tea. But man, this song is great, and the video makes it plenty of justice, IMO. Side note: CC translation screws it up a bit at 2:41, I hear «lo único, preciosa, que en mi mente habita hoy», which is “the only thing, you precious one, that inhabits my mind now”. Later at 4:13. «El que quererte quiere como nadie soy» is a beautiful poetic line that translate better into “the one who wants to love you like nobody else, I am”.
Hi Glenn!🖐 I'm not a big fan of Café Tacvba, but the band is very popular here in Argentina. 'Eres' is sung by keyboardist, Emmanuel del Real, but he's not the lead singer of the group. That version with the symphony orchestra is very nice. By the way, that theater (Teatro Colón) is considered one of the most beautiful theaters in the world. Greetings!
Thanks Glenn. It is a fairly simple song but very well done in its romantic and melancholic character and that has managed to maintain good popularity over the years.
Another unrequited love song! As I am listening to the orchestra version, I understand why the girls all say that Argentina's fans are the best, because they have the love of Music in their souls! Traditional Spanish rhythms (Yes I can hear the maracas in my head!)
Great choice by Ale.

"Eres" by Café Tacvba.
Verse 1
you are
What I most want in this world, you are
My deepest thought also you are
Just tell me what to do, here you have me
you are
When I wake up, the first thing, you are
What my life.
Chorus 1
What else can I tell you?
Maybe I can lie to you without reason
But what I feel today
It's that without you I'm dead, because you are
What I most want in this world, you are
Verse 2
You are
The time that I share, you are
What people promise when they love each other
My salvation, my hope, and my faith
I am
The one who wants to love you like nobody else, I am
The one who would bring you sustenance day after day, day after day
The one who would give his life for you, that's me.
Chorus 2
I am here by your side
And I wait here sitting until the end
You haven't imagined
What I've waited for you, because you are
What I love in this world you are
Every minute what I think about, you are
What I care for most in this world, you are.
Ale, She has an extraordinary sense of musical appreciation, she identifies with profound lyrics, just like her sisters.

Definitely their biggest hit. They are the kind of band that is so eclectic, that every musician likes them. great choice.

Café Tacvba is one of the best Mexican bands, great pick by Ale. BTW, I really enjoy these reactions to the girls' choices. Thanks!👍
Thank you!
I've heard some stuff from this band, but not this one, good song. All three sisters are big fans of CT.

There is an accelerated and rhythmic song from the same group that Pau likes to sing or have fun with his stories

Love the song. Didn't understand the words. Didn't care. But the Orchestra version was the best.
Wow. Great song. Liked both.

Correction: It was at a Latín Grammy Awards and they sing each other songs. Basically Incubus sings in Spanish and Café in English.
