      @@Akarpens
Objective is always better than extremely partisan.
I didn't want Trump, but I didn't want Clinton even more.
As obnoxious as Trump was, his economic policies were effective and had the US in one of the best situations we've been in in my lifetime (60 yrs) before COVID.
The economy allows people with disparate political views to be able to "live and let live", or ignore each other.
Obama and Biden (which seems an awful lot like Obama 3.0) have been fairly hyper Progressive left, which relishes using the government to intrude on people's decisions.
And this is foremost in the carbon fuel policy (which is the foundation of a strong economy).
Obama was not able to make his policy stick due to the innovation and development of fracking, making the US the largest carbon fuels producer (coal, oil, nat gas) in the world, and keeping the price more affordable and the supply secure.
Trump furthered this by reducing regulation deemed unnecessary and fast tracking leases on federal land.
That was the launchpad for the economic growth seen during his tenure (growth Obama told him was not possible).
Biden's resumption of the federal interference in the carbon fuel industry has thrown cold water on all things economic. Couple that with the purposefully chaotic border policy (during the end of the supposedly catastrophic Covid pandemic, letting millions of untested people in), the extremely sloppy withdrawal from Afghanistan & COVID shot mandates after it was clear that anyone under 50 had very little risk and that older folks could take the shot as they saw fit to protect themselves.
This list of policies I've given don't suggest humility at all but great hubris and "I know best, get out of my way and you're going to like it and shut up".
Zeihan has a lot of great takes, but he missed the mark on the Biden conclusion, IMO

    • @lolwuttup420
      @lolwuttup420 Год назад +4

@@jayclark5034 I would disagree with the Afghanistan point. Could the withdrawal have been better? Certainly. But I would argue that Trump and Obama asked about withdrawal while in office and after learning that it would be chaotic to some extent and would look bad to the general public they both probably decided against it. So I do give credit for Biden for taking the initiative when Trump and Obama likely refused.

Best analysis of Clinton and Dubya Bush. I worked in DC in three departments at a high management level, below executives and politicals, as a subject matter expert in an esoteric field so I commented on and proposed policy changes [if you think the politicals and executives did the work you're naive], some of which made it into final policy, and then I implemented final policies. I have the experience to say Zeihan is 100 percent on the mark for those two and probably also with the others. American greatness lies in being 'blessed' in every way possible - mainly geoaphical. As Peter describes in his books.
And this run of good fortune is going to continue (at least till the 2050s). There is going to be one superpower in the world.
And as an Indian I am glad it will be the sole superpower. Since the Russia Ukraine war I realize how US may not be perfect, but it is as close to a good, responsible and largely positive power/ force that we have.
Any other country as a superpower and the world would be significantly less liberal, less free, and less democratic. I say this after witnessing what Modi is currently doing in India.

I cannot get enough of your content, and you do a great job explaining complex geopolitical issues for the laymen to understand. However, I find myself wanting to understand things at a higher level of resolution -I.E in more detail (also with more graphs, maps, statistics, etc). perhaps you could do a master class or something like that? Im sure there are many others like me who would pay good money for such a program.
Even if there's not a big enough market of people who would pay for such a program outright, im sure if you were to post such videos on your YT account it would gain plenty of revenue through the views. Keep it up my friend, thanks for helping to educate the world!

It might be worth replicating the part where petey worked at stratfor for over a decade. You might be drawing erroneous conclusions from his success, he had a whole career before posting youtube videos that his videos draw off of. Try doing the first step where you work in the field for at least a decade, there' enough youtube videos about current events hosted by
      A) Eastern Europeans
      or
      B) British people with rhotacism
Without any direct experience or intense study, you can just repeat what you read in the news; for the most part, this is not what Petey does. I believe adults can treat rhotacism with moderate care and attention.
I did also watch one of your videos, like where you call voting machines "black box software", which is a term you made up, and is not an accurate descriptor of voter machine technology. Voting machines are not black boxes, they are computers accessed and used like other computers. There's videos online that demonstrate this.

I was in DC recently doing the normal site seeing and could not believe the aircraft noise (I’m an airplane nerd so loved it). It is constant and very loud. If possible, I would like you to talk about what the likely governance of the world will look like at the end of this century. To me, with technological trends concerning the tracking of individuals; population increases; and the need to tightly manage and control necessary resources (Water, food, energy), world governance will move toward a worldwide central government. I have struggled in the past few years to come up with a different model of world governance that could deal with these and other trends.

It seems you don’t realize that Medicaid is government funded but Obamacare is provided by private insurance companies with subsidies from the government to lower the premiums. So the money you are paying for Obamacare goes to the private health insurance companies and not to Medicaid which is paid with our tax dollars.
So why do the premiums keep going up?
One big reason is that private insurance companies have to compete against other insurance companies to buy health care services from hospitals. Since no one price shops to save their life, unlike things like cars or refrigerators, there is very little downward pressure on prices when hospital systems have near local monopolies. So the insurance companies have to pay what hospitals charge or it won’t be able to offer services from those hospitals to its subscribers. Plus the fact that they also have to compete with other insurance companies to buy medicines from Big Pharma means that drug prices keep going up as well.
      What is the solution?
Since we are faced with monopolies for health care and medicine, we need a monopoly of buyer to restore a balance of power. This is called a monopsony, a single buyer. The only power big enough to do that is the government. Remember Obamacare is NOT government health care. It is government subsidized private health insurance. Medicare extended to cover everyone with the authority to bargain over prices would be the way to go and this is what every other advanced countries have done.
