I have been learning English with you for 8 months
That's more natural way of saying it because the one you have written sounds like you don't follow his content anymore
Hi. I don't think so. I used present perfect tense, not past simple.
And I could have used present perfect continous as well. However, my sentence is correct.😀😀
@@evelynquinonez1667trash
You could have used therefore ^
It does not sound like she does not follow it anymore. However, using present perfect continuous would make it a tiny bit more clear that it is still continuing now.
I have had a dream about living in other planets. I drove a special spacecraft, and I could see different stars of different colors like green, red, yellow, and purple.

Damn, you made it clear for me to understand. ❤
Thanks for letting me know!
Great explanation.❤
Thank you so much teacher Mike ❤❤❤
5:15 THIS! I think I finally understand. I have= right now. I have had = before right now. So "I have had a wonderful time today" is correct. Even though my first instinct was to use simple past because the party was over (it is in the the past).
✅😁
@@TeacherMikeEnglish But I still don't understand how does it affect the present (see my example). In other words, how having a wonderful time *today* affects the present? The wonderful time I had today is *OVER* , in essence it is in the past, even though *TODAY* is not over yet. I don't see how this recently completed action (having a wonderful party) affects the present (assume I am sitting at home after having the wonderful time and writing this comment).
I had a wonderful time. (You are not there anymore)
I have had a wonderful time. (You are preparing to leave)
It doesn't affect the present. That's one of the reasons why we use present perfect, but it's not the only one.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish thank you
Wow, perfectly explained it, our Super Teacher. Thanks a lot.😊😊😊
Thank you!
Before my vacation, I have had time to pack all the necessary items.
You makes easy 😅 . I can understand, thanks teacher Mike 😊
Thanks! Glad to hear that!
Well explained
You make me clear past perfect. I can say: Yesterday when I went outside I had just had my lunch.
Thank you for your efforts .
Can I know what is the difference between other and another , please ??
Very impressively you explained it.
Thank you.
I am finally not confused with this topic. This explanation made it much more easy to understand. That was such difficult to understand in school. PS Is 'in' school correct here or should it be 'at'?
Glad to hear that! In American English, we would use "at".
Perfect explanation!👌
Thanks! 🙏
It's good to review this topic because the past perfect is not easy. Thanks a lot, Mike.😊
I had had my dinner when the earthquake started.
I have had a nice day today.

Very good explanation.
Thank you.
Mikael has forgotten his keys.
When I started the new job, I realized I had had more experience with the software than my coworkers had.
In this one, I would probably just use past tense because you are focusing on the fact that you had it at that time, not that you had had it earlier.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish I've got it. Thank you so much.
Thanks now I know when do people use had had and that is when they mention possissives in the past perfect tense
Hi teacher we can use (when or before)when we speak about had had
Thank you for this video. It's helpful. Can I also know what tenses to use when there is 'just now' in a sentence. For example: Do we say , I eat a cake just now or I ate a cake just now.
Most people would probably use past simple or present perfect.
"I had never had anyone teach me how to use "Have Had/Had Had" so clearly like you, Mike".
"If someone were to ask me now, I could say that I have had someone teach me how to use "Have Had/Had Had" so clearly, and that person is Mike."
Haha. Perfect!✅ And thank you!🙏
I haven't had enough time to eat my breakfast. I just have had my cup of coffee and rushed to the bus stop to reach the last bus.
This one would probably also be past tense.
I didn't have enough time to eat my breakfast. I only had time to eat my coffee and rush out the door to try and catch the last bus.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish Thank you so much for your help.
By the time the trip was canceled, I had had my tickets booked for over a month.

Have you never eaten them because you are allergic, because you are not interested, or because you have not had the opportunity?
I have had many opportunities to eat them during holiday’s brunches in Warsaw, but I havn’t had enough courage to try to eat them.
Sir , is this true? You had had a meeting last month. & question Had you had a meeting last month?. I'm from SL.
It's it wrong, but it depends why you are writing it that way. Usually, we would just say "You had a meeting last month."
Thanks a lot.See you later.Bye bye❤
I have had my lunch late. But I had had my lunch around 12 p.m. before.

I'm still confused with this lesson, Mike. Thank you so much, anyway. ❤❤❤
Have you watched any of my other videos about present perfect and or perfect?
Yes, I did. But I'm not comfortable with grammar, so I'm often confused.
i have taken English course this summer.
is ts correct ?
Sorry, what is different between simple past and past perfect ?
You could use present perfect or past simple depending when it is right now.
Basically, past perfect shows that one thing happened before another thing and probably affected it in some way.
@@TeacherMikeEnglish
can we use these word ( ago ـ last week ـ yesterady ...etc) in past perfect ?
I think no. We use "yesterday and last week" in past simple.
@@evelynquinonez1667
are sure ?just yesterday ـ last ?
A week ago. Two years ago
I have had enough time to eat my breakfast and slurp a cup of green tea before going to work.
I have IPhone 11 Pro right now
I have had 2 iPhones and 1 Nokia
I had had nokia when I was 15 years old
Is that correct?
All of them are correct, but I don't see a r as on to use past perfect in the third one. I would just use past simple unless you are comparing it to another past time/past action.
Sir, please I want to join your class, I want to learn more English please.

This one is really good!
I have (possession)
I had (possession of the past)
I have had (had/third form)
I had had (had/third form)
Something that I use to have in past but not right now (had had)
Something that I had in the past and still I possess it (have had)
Had can be replaced with third form of verb

They had taken their breakfast
They have had their lunch
They have eaten their lunch.
