Hi Z1nk! i never comment on RUclips, but i really felt the need to say what a blessing it is for me to find your channel. You're the most comfy minecraft youtuber there is in my opinion, your soft voice and the very positive vibe from your videos, combined with this silly little song you always put in your background.. its pure perfection! i became obsessed from the very first video, i see you as a very sweet orange cat who is just happy to be there. i wish you the very best in your minecraft youtube career, you deserve it and so much more!!
UPD: i really love smoked fish, as someone who usually doesent eat fish anywhere except for sushi. its quite a treat if combined with something to drink!

Salmon, tuna, cod. Get a salmon steak at a restaurant, you can try tuna on its own out of a can or in a sandwich (you can find easy recipes online - mix a can with mayonnaise, salt, and cracked pepper to make a spread). For cod I would suggest getting it battered and fried, most of the time if you order "fish and chips" from a restaurant it's cod. Fish is good for you and if prepared right is very tasty. Most people unless they are decent home cooks will overcook fish until it gets rubbery, so I'd suggest going out to eat it, at least at first. Sushi is a bit of an aquired taste, but try fish in at least two of the ways I suggested above and you'll know if fish is something you like or not.
And, don't worry about wether it says "wild caught" or not - most of the time, even ones labeled as wild are just farm fish, and most fish farms are actually better for the environment than big fishing trawlers cutting down wild numbers. There are certain types of farming that are worse, but most of those are outlawed or less profitable. Local and extremely fresh (as in it was swimming a couple hours before you ate it) is often the best tasting no matter what type of fish it is, but it's extremely difficult to get that unless you fish for it yourself or buy it at the docks. I used to go by a fishing town every year, and it was always amusing to me that even though 90% of the restaurants there were seafood-based, only a small handful actually used fish caught from the ocean there or in the bay nearby. It's cheaper for them to just buy from the same suppliers that fill supermarkets and sell to restaurants in the middle of the continent.
Speaking of seafood, if you haven't tried a lot of that either I would mostly suggest trying crab in some kind of Italian pasta dish. People love to go on and on about shrimp, scallops, and lobster but they honestly just all have that "generic fish" taste and aren't worth the cost unlkess you really love them. Crab at least tastes a little different than those. Dried squid is a tasty snack if you can find some at an Asian store, and has a unique flavor. If you like to cook and find that you like fish in general, I'd suggest sardines and anchovies - they're unpopular, I think mostly because they're more of a condiment than a main feature of a meal. Add them to salads, on pizza, in place of fish oil or fish paste, etc.
Let me know if you tried fish and whether or not you liked it!

Salmon is easy on the stomach too, so it's a good first dish for someone who hasn't had fish much before. And btw, I really enjoyed the video, I'll check out your channel and watch some more

I mean, it's not hard. Not much Minecraft content out there that appeals to like an older demographic of people in the mid 20s. (that is not purely nostalgia baiting.) Seriously, at this point I've lost count how many videos of Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 have been fed onto my homepage.
Also, for fish recommendations, I'd say a tuna pizza can never go wrong. Usually my go-to when it comes to oven pizzas.

halibut, cod and tilapia are good fish to start out with. They aren’t super strong in flavor and can get ya more used to the texture and slight fishy taste. If you are preparing the fish yourself one recommendation I have is to remove the bloodline, the bloodline can have a very strong fishy flavor which might put you off from fish.
If your wanting to try more flavorful fish then I would recommend tuna, salmon, mahi-mahi, and even eel! Eel sushi is really good, and it’s cooked!

  • @chickennuggetpaw

My only recommendation for fish is to avoid freshwater fish. I personally think ocean fish tastes better, but that’s just my opinion. And definitely avoid eating anything that comes from a swamp loll. It’ll taste like it was marinated in swamp water.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, so I have to give a shoutout to salmon. It tastes less fishy to me than most white fish, so I think it would be a good gateway fish. If you like teriyaki, teriyaki salmon on rice is a super simple, delicious combo that eases you into the flavor of the salmon, cushioned by the strong flavor of teriyaki sauce. Smoked salmon is one of my favorites, but I'd recommend more of a plank-smoked style rather than lox for getting used to it. Raw fish has a peculiar texture for people who aren't used to it, and lox has a similar texture to raw salmon.

Salmon is a very good fish to try! The recipe I make is honestly very simple.
Wash yo fish then pat dry.
Slather that baby in oil (preferably olive)
Lay the skin side on a baking sheet, so the pink side is up.
Cover the pink side in some dill, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
Bake at 400°f for 20-25 minutes or until the inside looks like a solid pink color. (If it's still raw it has a translucent look to it).
Then this step is optional but I prefer it,
Separate the meat from the skin using a spatula, then flip the meat over so the seasoned side is on the plate, then scrape off the grey goop on the bottom.
If you try it, I hope you like it! Sick vid :)

Hey! So a good fish would be Cod or Haddock. Those are the traditional ones to fry up and serve with fries for Fish and Chips. They are white fish, and don't have a "fishy" taste. If you want something more fishy, Salmon is great on a cedar plank with some pesto. If you wanna go REALLY good, you can grab a Tuna or MahiMahi Steak. Done right you wont even know those are fish!

Salmon is my favorite (and a lot of other people's too lol) but also a lot of fish with white meat have very mild flavor that would probably be a good way to ease into them as a food. Some fish that I'd say are mild and not too crazy (for an average American palette) would be tilapia, halibut, catfish, cod, flounder, mahi mahi. If you want to go extra baby mode, which there's no shame in, you can get frozen or refrigerated pre-made fish fillets of a lot of those. They're also pretty easy to cook yourself though, and fish is often paired with butter or lemon and various herbs.
If you want to give sushi another chance, I would recommend starting with a simple tuna or salmon roll. Since there's a smaller amount of fish vs. the other ingredients, you'd ideally be able to try the raw fish without replicating the mouthful you had as a kid haha.
If you're also not well acquainted with other seafood, my personal favorites are shrimp and scallops. They're not necessarily hard to cook, but you might have a best experience at a restaurant, especially with scallops which can get rubbery if overdone. Lobster rolls and crab cakes are also really good :)

Tilapia is a pretty easy fish to get into. Salmon is nice too. You can find easy oven recipes for both of those.
I am not a fan of sushi myself so I eat my sea creatures cooked.

Frozen filets of tilapia or salmon are great go-tos to have in the freezer. Rice and veggies is simple but effective. Experiment with seasoning based on recipes you find online. Hoisin sauce is a sleeper favorite.

I'm a big catfish fan, It's nothing too fancy but good! A good fried catfish is hard to beat if especially if you don't normally eat fish. Swordfish is also good 👍
I'm loving your videos man! Feels so down to earth, like you're just hanging out and actually having a good time. Keep it up! Can't wait to see more 😄

i'll go ahead and drive up the video engagement as well because this channel deserves it-cod, tilapia, salmon, and catfish.
i've only had cod and tilapia fried, the former is juicier while the latter is a lot more flaky, which a lot of people like.
salmon is good smoked or as a steak, but i've had it for sushi before and it's good that way as well.
for catfish, fried or deep fried-the latter is best in smaller amounts.

one thing to remember when you do try fish, is the flavor is really dependent on quality and the way it’s prepared so if you don’t like a certain way its prepared, don’t give up!

I prefer meatier/chewier fish, so I like swai fillets with breading or crumbled up ritz cracker topping. I also like salmon, and it’s chock full of healthy fats! Great video dude, smart thinking with the water!

salmon is always the easiest fish to eat. you can cook it in various ways like baking it, air frying it, you can put a variety of seasoning on it, you can stuff it, theres a lot of variety you can get out of salmon. swordfish is good too it can be salty but it kind of lacks that "fishy flavor", haddock/cod is very basic but a lot like salmon, its usually what you're eating in fish and chips. tuna is good too, like tuna steaks not canned tuna. if anything, id start with salmon and cook it whatever way you think tastes best (brown sugar glaze, lemon garlic, stuffed salmon). i love fish so I could keep going, but those are just some ideas to get started with!

Salmon is good! Easy to acquire and super easy to cook.
    Salmon
    Brown sugar
    Soy sauce
    Ginger (powder)
    Garlic (powder or minced)
    Onion (powder)
    Cucumber
    Avocado
    Seaweed (the snack packs)
    Jasmine or sushi rice
    Mayonnaise or yum yum sauce
Season your salmon with all the seasonings listed. Add a little cooking oil to a pan on medium heat, cook for a few minutes then flip (if your salmon has skin begin cooking it on the skin side) after flipping measure out 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1/2 cup water and mix together in a bowl. Your salmon is done when it flakes apart, remove from pan. Add the water soy sauce mix to the pan and cook until boiling. Add 3 tablespoons of brown sugar (taste and see if you like the flavor you may need to add more sugar) cut your fish into bite sized pieces you can keep the skin on but salmon skin is super yummy so usually at this stage I eat it while it’s still nice and crispy. After boiling for a few minutes turn your sauce down to low and cook until thickened. Add your salmon once thickened, turn off your stove and gently fold your fish into the sauce.
Grab your (cooked and slightly cooled ) rice. Add in Mayo/yum yum sauce and furikake if you have any. Mix together. Dice your avocado and your cucumber. Add your fish to the top of the rice then the avocado and cucumber and pair with your seaweed snack!
Super yummy, tangy sweet fish on a bed of fluffy savory rice topped with crunchy seaweed and refreshing avocado and cucumber. I LOVE making myself these bowls! Also works great with chicken instead of fish!
I’m not a huge avocado fan so usually I leave it out and sub for it using edamame!!
    Enjoy ☺️
