Because they don't use autotune as far as I can tell.. the imperfections in his voice make it so powerfully, piercingly sweet. This guy is doesn't come off as a very trained singer, there are plenty of better voices. But his vocal range and lack of traditional technique equate to some raw, natural, and decidedly beautiful sounds. Comparable to John Frusciante in many ways to me, at least. Check out some of his music. If you didn't know, he's the Red Hot Chili Peppers Guitarist. Anyway, this guy is great. Chris Cornell was a legend as well. RIP

im in the process of writing one out, or what i play when i play along. it'll be really rough because i havent done this before
I'm sure you can do it without 5th string, usually it's just tuned to a B so you can just grab the octave on the A or E string if you have to
Tim Worley I know very little about music when it comes to playing it, but Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead played a 6 string bass and I've seen numerous cover bands use only 4 or 5 string ones, so I'm under the impression that there are ways around that.
