Old but gold! Add they say. The first good thing I've heard to come from Corvid.. Just goes to show that these great new machines aren't always suitable for everything.
I have run into same problem with my New Holland disc mower...too heavy and building up debris 🙁. Gotta keep those older/different machines around 😉👍🏻. I love the music!
I bet Dan you are glad you didn't sell you mower. I learnt how to mow on a mower just like this Dan and she is still in the back of the shed not been out fot a few years now. Great video Dan and fab drone shots to.
31 years thats really good going for a mower shows you must look after your kit some of the farms are I have been on in the past a mower would be doing well to last 31months let alone years 😂😂😂
We had old tarup 307 cracking mower it made a great swath for the round baler .but as tractor HP grew the old mowers main gearbox just couldn't take the power and the cogs welded there selfs together . And the rest was history and that was the end of that
Could you do a machinery tour at some point it would be very interesting to see what you use for what and it’s history from what I’ve seen it just amazes me some of your kit
Very interesting crop. Does it need to be sprayed like a crop that would be combined? The barley probably opens up the ground for a grass reseeding after
I noticed from your drone footage that there is a field of solar panels close by. Is that on your land too. If so how does that arrangement work out and is it a viable alternative to cropping the land?
What does this mean going forward, keep the Tarrup or not grow it in the future ? I see the cab is clean & tidy again. Do you clean your tractor each time before you film? or fs , as I suspect, this the norm for tractor cleanliness ?
@@CowfarmerDan Well, I think you should be congratulated, your cab is to the standard of arable tractor, some of those drivers wear slippers whilst in the cab changing to boots only when they get out.
It's just you look familiar to somebody and another RUclipsr look like somebody planted some Alfafa grass for years ago that's all also but obviously your not.
Great video dan, good to see the crop from planting to cutting, mower going well for an old one.

Very refreshing to see a farmer who is capable of using a grease gun and takes the time to look after their kit

Great video as always Dan

It could be sprayed to keep it cleaner.
The grass is already there, it was drilled at the same time as the barley.
@@CowfarmerDan Very good. So am l right in saying the grass will take off in the aftergrass with the help of fert and slurry? Sounds a great system.
Yes, that's right.
soon as i seen a second of that mover the name Taarup 306 came to mind
Woud be interesting to seethe feed analasys between the first lot cut and the second 10 days later
Great video tidy outfit 👍
Greta video dan, does the moisture of barley for silage matter a lot more than it would for grass silage?
The moisture of the grain is the most important part.
Great video 👍 👍
superb brother
A ideal mower fo you to do this job would be a grasshopper

That's not our land, it's next door.
I don't know the financial position but I'm sure it pays more than farming the land.
Done thousands of acres with one of them.

I don't clean the cab every time, just try to keep it tidy all the time.

Hi Dan great video. You don't have to say to much but are you familiar wit Bromyard and that area?
No, never been there.
@@CowfarmerDan Don't worry not trying to stalk you just familiar accent to my the area in general.

Will u b doing video of that whole crop been baled or collected with forage wagon?
Yes
Mower is cutting well for a 30 year old
Does the conditioner not trash the grain out of the barley ?
Yes, we lose a few grains
👍
What do you use to hold the top link up?
Just the normal bracket.
👍👌🇨🇦❤
I was told to mow at 10 mph.
I mow at whatever speed the crop or conditions dictate.
