Really appreciate the transparency of this channel. You tell us how much you'd pay for them and how much you'd sell them for and show us where they came from. Most places and business are too worried about sharing their business model in case competitors try and beat them or something.
True. Everyone has to make a profit in order to survive, but there’s no reason to be dishonest or rip someone off.

Yeah they're scared of saying they like money and don't tell how much they earn just because of that but these guys started with showing it and that makes them special and more fun to know what you can actually get and sell for!
Yeah we just don’t care, if the buyer thinks it’s a good value they will buy. If not they won’t. So who cares what we paid for it
@@BikesandBeards I had a similar mindset when I did door-to-door internet service sales. Told people what my commission was if they signed up, how to cancel without fees, etc. They asked why I was being so transparent and I told them there was no benefit in lying and I actually did better with the honesty.
I’m glad they started letting you bring a camera in very entertaining

All I can think of, is that the "shouter" that keeps outbidding you, is a dealer who is bidding for reserve buyers. He has a list of people who want specific bikes, and have already promised specific prices. This guy likely combs the auctions, looking for specific bikes, to fulfill his requests.
Let's say I wanted a 2014 Indian Chieftain, blue and white, and was willing to pay $11,000. I give you 10% down, and you start looking. You find one at auction, in good condition, and win on a $9,200 bid. I have signed a contract with you for $11,000, so you make a guaranteed profit $1,800.
In essence, you've already got a sale on a bike you haven't even found yet.
But, who in they right mind would Offer to Pay 11k for a Indian they haven’t even heard or seen running yet??
I don’t think I know of any Dealership that tells the public around the amount that they paid for a vehicle. Enjoy y’all keep the videos coming.

Heads up from a lender's perspective... for some reason, wholesale in December has performed much better than anticipated at NPA; thinking this is because of the limited auctions in the month with the holidays and the need for inventory over the holidays and new years. I ran 10 units well over my floor yesterday at NPA Dallas. Best of luck in the recon and re-sale on your buys!

@@sarahdell4042 sales before Christmas, trying to have inventory in the new year as the move into spring happens, preparing for riding season and trying to avoid paying a premium for stock during the season.
People wanting to buy stuff to part out over the winter and cash in on the winter servicing/rebuilding/project bike scene as well.
Also prepping for christmas/new year bonus paychecks and stuff as well.
Tax year is April remember not December so....

This is Greg Not Jen (RUclips messed up my channel name). Simply have an eBay business but my wife and I do our best to treat our customers as you do. After all, we don't answer to our customers. We answer to the Lord. So far We have been able to turn any customer around and even end up getting Positive Feedback. Of course it's not for the Feedback but just to treat others as we are called to do.

Bikes are toys to most riders. So a lot of riders trade in their bikes every year. Excess dealership inventory ends up here.

Think of it this way Sean, the guys who run the auction all had a great Christmas thanks to you. You are a cross between Robin Hood and Santa, it’s just the deserving poor missed out this time, and the auctioneers walked away with your money.
There is a NPA by my house. The owner has a full RC track with a podium and a sprinkler system anyone and everyone can use whenever they want.
That gixer you bought at the end the blue one is so clean I bet you got that for a steal man great job, I want to go to the auction and try to buy a bike or two to start out and then restore em and flip em go back and buy more haha maybe one day I'll have the overhead to do so but for now making and keeping mine and my friends bikes badass keeps me busy 💪👌

As a former dealer (auto not moto) I can attest that auction fever is a very real thing. Luckily in this biz there is more then one way to skin a cat, but losses are part of the game unfortunately. Hopefully you take in some nice trades and make some

You get it though, this is a long game not a short game. Every customer who feels good about there purchase, is another person saying what a good deal they got or how well they were treated sending more customers your way.

Be very glad that you didn‘t end up getting that United Motors bike. I bought one brand new and in less than a year they completely went out of business. Couldn't sell mine either forever and took a major loss on the bike. They are built well but you can only get parts through the dealer/manufacturer which doesn't exist anymore. Also there is no aftermarket parts available. Keeway is also another one with the same problem. In all I think you did good Sean.

You need to have someone with you to help keep track of everything. I help my friend keep track of what he is interested in when he goes to Manheim Auctions to buy cars.

They should have a small exhausted enclosure so you can start them. Seems would be beneficial getting prices up, but would drive down the ones that won't. Yeah, because alot probably won't start from bad gas.
You only have like $1,400 against a brand new 310 to work with. I’m glad your business is doing well, most dealers in PA have been sitting on super cheap priced used bikes for at least a season or two, driving prices way down, and killing the buyers ability to trade in without losing their butt.
Some of these bikes we won’t make any money on the sale. The bmw might be one of them

Auctions are the worst places. Often things sell more than retail as people get caught up in the frenzy.

Very interesting how the auction works. I got a big kick out of the guys wheeling the auctioneer's booth around the floor! How is it attached to electricity? Don't people ever trip on the wires? Didn't seem like there were many people there? So it kinda depends how much you pay on how many people show up to bid; so one time you could get bikes pretty cheap and other times not so much. Thanks!
Most of the people were bidding online, and the auction booth has a Honda generator to keep it powered and online

Wished they had the bike I was looking for a few weeks ago. I ended up finding a 2018 shadow aero 750 for 4k with 5k miles. Mint condition. Babied. But I would gladly paid more just to buy from these guys.

Great video! Nice bikes, but I'm looking for a 2013 (or later) Kawasaki ZX14R! It comes standard with; dashboard display-power control, ABS anti lock brakes, 1441cc engine. It's a wheelie machine, but the power control can be adjusted, along with the anti lock system, adjustment, to where it will stop it from wheelieing!!..lol..!!
Yup we use the BMW 310 on two motorcycle ranges I teach at. Great training bikes!

Oh no Sean. The BMW G310r is an Indian manufactured bike and is a commercial failure in India itself. The bike was a big mistake. BMW partnered with a brand that is known to cheap out on parts. I've tried both the 310r and 310gs. Both the variants had a loose frame, bad brakes, non existent power and a very uncomfortable riding posture.

Did some rough math; listening to Shawn and what he makes on a bike. So if he spends 4K-5K on a bike and makes sells it for 6K-7k and he spent 100K that is roughly about 20 bikes, let’s say he clears 2K per bike he makes 40k on the whole lot. Now, put in the trade ins he gets, if some one finances the bike with no money down which is good for him, compared to someone putting a thousand down. Over all I’d say spend a 100K and make 150K but you also have to hold on to the bikes till they sell. Over all lots of work but worth it in the long run.
Lol not sure how you got there considering I might loose on some of these bikes. But our average margin is $1400 per unit and we sell at very competitive prices
True, I was just trying to figure out is it really worth the money, time, storage, and cost. I’ve never heard of a turn over rate/sales rate of how many bikes they go through. Is it a turn and burn type of business or is it a stick-stay and make it pay? A bike place in our area has lots of bikes, all types, but their real bread and butter comes from shipping thousands of orders of stuff out of their warehouse. Five people working their floor selling bikes, warehouse has 50 people working in it.
