- Just in time for Christmas, we go back to the Jersey Central O-Gauge layout of Bob Halliday for a look at his latest masterpiece - a semi-scale model of the famous "Babyface" diesel locomotive!
Bob took nine months to complete the engine and the result is nothing short of spectacular! This program will give a brief history of the "Babyface" diesels, followed by a look into the build process and sights of the unit in action.
Many thanks to Bob Halliday for his hospitality and for sharing his layout and new locomotive with us!

This just looks beautiful! Impressive job to Bob!
It was so awesome to see the CNJ Baldwin built Babyface diesel locomotive made an appearance in the layout thanks to Bob. He deserves a great credit for making this model even if other manufacturers didn't made them in any scale. No doubt that's worth a waiting.
It was definitely worth the wait! Like I said, I hope this does attract the attention of the bigger manufacturers and get them to dip their toes in the pool of obscure engines a bit further.
Bob did such an amazing job
That is art!
Looks really good
Thanks very much! Bob did a splendid job!
Funny, The Double Ender Was Built in Such a Manner Whereby Direction Wouldn't Be a Concern, Yet It's Staged Photograph Is On a Turn Table. Then Again. It Might Be Exciting the Repair Shop, Which They Were Frequent Visitors
I felt that having the unit on the turntable would be a good way to see it all around.
It just peaces out of there 😂
What do you mean?
Railsounds?
You mean 2000-2004 or 2001-2005?
I messed up on the number of units; there were six in total, numbering 2000-2005.
Who built the Babyface in real life
Baldwin Locomotive Works built these engines.
It’s just too bad Baldwin diesels weren’t that good. The company was quick to dismiss them as a gimick that would succumb to steam locomotives, and they didn’t start even trying until they stopped building steam locomotives, but by that time it was too late. These were sadly made back when Baldwin wasn’t trying hard enough.
