Thanks great tips Warren and I agree.
Yes, all very good info
Warren I miss your live Sunday sessions please come back
On the way! Changing the day to Tues or Wed check the community feed.✌🏾
@@WarrenHenry any day is cool with me Warren
Love your videos and agree with everything you stated if recording or mastering is going to be your full-time profession. Sure, buy into the expensive and proprietary eco system of Avid and UA.... It's great stuff. If this is just a hobby, you can get arguably 95% of the quality for 1/8 of the cost.
Ryan! Excellent point! Hope you can make it later. Great insight🙌🏽
+1 on acoustics and mics. Might add "thou shall not skimp on instruments" and their maintenance, even if it's just personal use. And who doesn't love a studio with a feast of snares and guitars to chose from?
On the other hand I future-proof'd my studio by going hybrid. Followed your suggestions on the 3630 and dbx's: couldn't be happier! :)
Ditto with hardware 'verbs and delays. Mine sure are no valhalla, some are even older than me, but what will VSTs be worth in a few years time? + leftover CPU and some sounds no software can quite replicate.
Last but not least on the un-sexy investments: ergonomics and backups.
Joåo, thanks for your comment and for watching🙏🏾
Warren do you prefer the lewitt mics over the warm mics ?
It depends on what’s being recorded. I really like the pre eq’d curve of the Lewitt. It’s a timesaver for certain types of voices. The WA87 may require a bit more eq sculpting because of its character. Thanks for stopping by the Livestream today ✌🏽
@@WarrenHenry thank you for the livestream I’m excited for the next one! I’m just getting started with a hybrid setup mixing some warm rack gear with a tascam dp24. I have a tone beast , a eqp-wa, and a art pro vla2. Trying to get the most out of everything. If you had just one eqp-wa would you think the best way to use it would be as a send / return since that way you can put it on a stereo track even though it’s a mono EQ ?
John, you hit the nail on the proverbial head with your last sentence. That’s exactly the way it was done when you only had one of something.
No disrespect but I just can't do pro tools, learn what ever daw you have and keep it moving! Their business model is just ridiculous! You can get it done on just about any daw! Salute
To your last point, you are correct. However, if you have to exchange files with another facility you might run into problems. Thanks for watching.✌🏾
@@WarrenHenry I work with another producer he is in pro tools, I mix most of his work. I just have him send me wav. files. I load into Reaper and its on We have no issue what so ever I do mix all of their material from scratch. I may listen to a reference if he sends one No issues.
