Christchurch may not have commuter trains, but it does have the TranzAlpine Express, which runs from Christchurch to Greymouth (on the South Island's West Coast) and back in a single day. It passes through the Southern Alps and the Otira Tunnel (the third longest rail tunnel in NZ after Kaimai and Remutaka), and is a journey well worth doing if you ever make it to the South Island someday. I'm from Wellington myself, but did the TranzAlpine a number of years ago, and absolutely loved it. The TranzAlpine is one of the great rail journeys of NZ and has magnificent scenery galore.
@@RowanMorrell Ah ok good to know. I've been thinking recently about this trip and how much I loved it. It really is a unique country. I hope I can go back someday to explore the south island!
1 you survived the hood - south auckland badlands. 2 you can pay via paywave credit debit card now - no need for AT card. 3 Auckland public transport infrastructure has been a mess for years

FYI, the beeping from the cab is the indicator.
@@SageGamingPro Then why was beeping like almost the whole time...
@@TransportofPerth Probably because the driver needed to let passengers on/off at many of the stops and also the driver constantly changed lanes.
Sick
