Me as a commentator: Coming off turn 4, Red Qusa will finish 4th here at Dover. Red Qusa's Crew Chief: We're gonna make it, awesome, awesome job out there. Red Qusa: We survived Miles the Monster, yes!
40 drivers in the race but the remaining three open positions not there where there were not enough room for 43 drivers, or three drivers had mechanical failures during qualifying, or not having any back-up cars. The Monster Mile at Dover has an unpredictable outcome. Turn 2 triggers the big one were nobody had no time to react or couldn't slow down at all when the caution came out, with two drivers that flipped over, Christian Fittipaldi and Greg Biffle. And in the end, "The Closer" Kevin Harvick tamed the monster. | Failed to qualify - (Note: Three drivers suffered mechanical failure during qualifying) | 0 - Jack Sprague - Pontiac - (Broken Oil Pump) 02 - Hermie Sadler - Pontiac 09 - Mike Wallace - Dodge 11 - Brett Bodine - Ford 14 - Larry Foyt - Dodge 27 - Scott Wimmer - Dodge 33 - Paul Menard - Chevrolet 35 - Bobby Hamilton Jr. - Ford 37 - Derrike Cope - Chevrolet 45 - Kyle Petty - Dodge - (Broken Timing Chain) 46 - Carl Long - Dodge 49 - Ken Schrader - Dodge - (Broken input shaft) 57 - Kevin Lepage - Ford 60 - Brian Vickers - Chevrolet 71 - Tim Sauter - Chevrolet 80 - Mike Bliss - Chevrolet 81 - Jason Keller - Chevrolet 89 - Morgan Shepherd - Ford 90 - Ron Hornaday Jr. - Chevrolet 91 - Casey Atwood - Dodge 98 - Jason Jarrett - Ford
Dover at the time (and to this day, I think) had only 40 pit stalls, the bottom 3 qualifiers had to share the last 3 pit stalls. NR2003 isn't capable of that, so the maximum number of starters at Dover is 40.
I love how stupid the a.i can be during wrecks sometimes 😅😂
