So. Good. Thanks for the reminder to not worry about always getting the best shots and missing having fun on the adventure. My favorites were the family on the bench and Jillian’s phot with the puzzle pieces!
man was just in Anacortes for a photo road trip and it was raining the whole time and i was so sad but i still took flicks...heading back this friday morning and u just gave me so much life with this vid...thanks uncle Dylan!
Yet another banger. I often shoot on cloudy days because most of the time I can only shoot on weekends because of school so these extra tips were great to hear. And awesome photos as usual.
Man that quote of not every shot needs to be my next portfolio piece hit. These videos are my favorite after a long finals week lol, time to binge more 😅
Dylan back at it again with another banger. Always love your videos, no matter the topic there is always a level of storytelling keeping me glued to the screen waiting to learn something.
Dude, where's the content? Recently found the channel and love it. I wanted to bing 100 videos! I also want a colour grading vid from you. Hope you haven't quit.
Hey! Appreciate the support, really nice of you to dive through all the videos. More on the way real soon - some fun ones in progress. I've just been incredibly swamped with commercial work the past few months! Thanks for being patient 🙏
@@DylanSpitz appreciate! could you tell please what kind of settings did you used while recording the video via Sony? Cause i goy my first camera, sony a7iii and so far moving forward to learn from the best. Have a good one!
Always look forward to your videos! Nobody's visuals come close! Would love to see your process for editing your Fuji RAWs, video color grading, film development, or just more of what you're doing. I know it takes a ton of time to shoot/edit these videos so thank you!
A fine conclusion to this set of films, and all gloriously put together as always. PNW is on my fantasy holiday list... but it's a long, long way from the UK - thankfully I can experience it vicariously here.
Really happy that you enjoyed the series from this trip! Thanks for watching them all, I appreciate it. The PNW is absolutely worth a visit at some point. It’s funny, I feel the same way about the UK - really want to go sometime, really hard to find the time to go that far. Hopefully we’ll both check them off our lists sometime.
Great video, calm, but exciting, just what I needed today. It also made me want to shoot photos instead of browsing gear wich is my default state this time of year :) Thank you so much for all the work you put into this, it was really worth it (at lease for me :D)
Always excited to watch your videos Dylan! Loved the Tenet vibes in the intro. I’ve seen this mentioned before but would love to learn your approach to colour grading!
I’ve been on that ferry! I went there last year and went to the same coffee shop! I also agree…Matcha lasts like earth lol. I need to go back and look at my photos from this day. We went whale watching…and didn’t see any whales lol. Always enjoy your videos Dylan!
This is so relatable, and you make some great points, Dylan. I'm feeling validated and inspired! I definitely need to work on letting go and enjoying my shooting time when I have a preconceived idea that isn't working for me. It's really not worth ruining a great day and making memories with our peeps because of that. Also, even the baby cows don't want matcha lattes.
That's great to hear! This entire trip was honestly just a series of conditions not going as planned - which wouldn't matter at all without the pressure of feeling like you have to perform well. If the stars aligned every time then nothing would be special, I suppose. Also, HONESTLY WHO LIKES THEM?
I’d love to see a similar video about shooting in bright mid-day sunlight. As someone living in Texas blown out skies are more of a problem for us than gloomy days.
Also, just wanted to say that I love your videos. Beautiful vibes, calm atmosphere, they’re just a pleasure to watch. A huge departure from the hordes of RUclipsrs shouting at you.
Really appreciate the kind words! Means a lot to hear that. 🫶 I could definitely do a video like that in the future - might have to wait until a different time of year though 🤣 the sun is annoyingly shy during this season out here.
I live in Anacortes. It’s pretty cool to see it through your lens though. We get familiar with things and tend to miss what is right in front of us. I have never really photographed the ferries, so I’m going to make that a goal next time I hop over to one of the islands. There is some interesting stuff on San Juan Island. Cattle point, lime kiln lighthouse, the mausoleum in Roche Harbor. Come back and give us your take on it.
Ah that's awesome! Small world...can't imagine living over there, felt like such a special area. Would love to come back in the summer and get some nice light - might just have to do that.
Always looking forward to your videos! You have really cool content! Can we expect any color grading tutorials/tips from you. Your visuals are really something. Also, do you have different approaches when you edit photos vs video?
Really kind of you, thanks so much! You never know, I suppose. I have 0 consistency in my approach, especially between photo and video. I just follow my thoughts about what I think the photo or video should feel like and pursue it until it's there.
I actually take a similar approach on grey days. I would particularly like to emphasise your last tip. a bad photo day is by no means a bad day. Documenting helps enormously with this assessment and improving your own photography through reflection. thank you for this beautiful video.👍
Really appreciate the compliment and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! You’re right, it’s crazy how much your attitude can effect the shooting day and outcome.
Haha love the quip about matcha. You really need to try it in Japan where they use better quality and better prepared matcha. I hated matcha before I went to Japan and now I can’t get enough of it. It’s leagues ahead of the crappy export stuff that other countries use!
Sunsets aren’t rare at all. Fisherman’s Bay on Lopez consistently has the most beautiful sunsets on earth. I sailed in one day for a 6 pack of beer and never left. That was 13 years ago.
Intro of the video was cool, it provides the atmosphere of cloudy days perfectly ❤
Thank you so much!

I really like the colour palette on your shots in the ferry. Thumbs up !
Thank you so much 😀

I was blown away by the intro! Beautiful shots and music to go with it 🔥 of course I loved the photos as well
Woooo! Thanks for that. Really kind of you 🫶
I love shooting on the ferries in Washington. And you're right: the sunsets on the ferry are something to behold. Great photos, and a great video!
Thank you so much! I definitely want to do it again and try to catch some sunshine. Really had a great time.
After hard thinking my favorite pictures are... all of them. Great job to both of you!
Haha, well thank you!
Lots of good ideas. Thank you for all your videos.
Thanks for watching! Glad you’re finding value in them.
This really resonated with me today for some reason
Glad to hear that 🙏
beautiful video, the initial music is FIREEE!!!

Ferry photography must be its own genre here in WA Lol--My favorite place to shoot in Seattle is in the ferries that run across the Sound. Great vid!
It's a ferry good time, for sure.
Great ideas and photos. I enjoyed the photo of the couple on the Ferry.
Thanks so much! Glad you liked that one, a favorite of mine as well. Appreciate you watching!
Amazing set of videos man, thank you for coming back to post every time! ✌🏻

Really happy to hear that! Glad you liked the intro, had a lot of fun making the music for that one. Noted! Thanks 😊
Awesome video, awesome shots! Did you post process the X100v shots?
Hey, thanks! Yes, the digital shots were in raw and then processed in Lightroom to taste 🤘
Overcast/rainy days on a ferry in the PNW sound like a dream honestly haha. Photos turned out so nice! Really digging the 800T shots
Ah thanks! Yeah, it was a fun experience. I agree about the 800T, I was so glad I had a roll with me, haha.
wow the intro was especially amazing man! Great work
Thanks a ton!
My favorite shot was 5:48, love the contrasting colors with the pink and blues. It was shot almost dreamy like. Low shutter speed maybe? 😅
Ah yessss, you’re correct! I think it was at 1/50 to get close to motion picture speed blur on her hair ❤️

Where can i get this background music ?
I wrote the intro music for this video. The rest of it is from epidemic sound. 🤘
