Anyone see the medal count for this meet on one of the major news networks in the States? It had The US leading medal tally count first place, despite a "whopping 3 gold medals to the US," and, at the time, "only 10 gold to Australia?" They counted all the medals, bronze, silver and gold at 23, with Australia "only" 16. They couldn't stand that the Australian's were winning most of the golds. Australia might be downunder, and small in population, but from what I've experienced and seen, it is a very sophisticated country, and the wealth is shared around, as opposed to the the top 10% of the population owning 90% of the wealth, as is the exact situation in The US. Australians brought the internet to the world too! The only thing lacking is population, @ close to 27 million, but the standard of living is high, the wages great, lifestyle fantastic, and good free healthcare. Not bad for a little place tucked away from the rest of the world.😊

Considering Australia has a smaller population than the state of California, we punch above our weight against the Americans in swimming. They have a LOT more talent to choose from.

It’s not only telling but also bizarre that the US is the only country in the world that counts the amount of medals won overall rather than by gold medals.
They do the same for the Olympics as well.
It’s the same way they put M/D/Y instead of D/M/Y or that they’re the ‘only country’ in the world that STILL uses the imperial system rather than metric.
The US is advanced in so many way yet so backward in others, their health care system is a perfect example of that fact, for such a wealthy not to have universal healthcare for its citizens speaks volumes about them.
