Thank you :) I bought the printed version just as the pdf version. A specially the booklet feels very premium. I'm looking forward to playing it hopefully in a couple of years since my level of playing isn't there yet. ; )
Great stuff, I bought it too. My family will go nuts before I have this down. ^.^ EDIT: The right hand fingering is not included in the score. The secret to this piece is very much in the right hand.
I hope this arrangement gets included in many guitarists concert repertoire so that it gets played everywhere, it's fabulous and really shows the guitars potential.
The way this piece is performed is amazing. Just like how one vocalist sings all the characters of Erlkönig. One can almost hear the different voices of the characters. From the sweet words of the Elf King to the reassurance of the father.
I finally finished learning this and performed it last week. Very well received. People were really taken in. Bravo again on a wonderful arrangement 🙏 I’m tackling your Mozart sonata next 😊
In addition to being a Fantastical Performance, I sincerely believe that you have demonstrated a great Act of Bravery in successfully tackling a nearly impossible piece!
Came here from Hilary Hahn's Erlkönig on violin and I fell in love with this piece, and have been scraping the internet for all the Erlkönig peformances I can find. This is the first time I heard Erlkönig on guitar, it's amazing! A true LingLing! It's amazing how the color of the sound changes as it shifts among different characters in this piece. For a sec a thought you are doing left hand pizz on a guitar, (is that a thing?) but anyway it was so powerful! If the Elf king talks to me like that, I'll be seduced as well. I wonder if he will perform this piece at Carnegie hall this incoming April.
Left hand pizz is a million times easier on guitar than it is on violin. We don't really call them pizzicato on guitar, cause everything on guitar is pizzicato. Instead we call them pull offs, or slurs. And because guitars have frets, they're much easier than on violin, and it allows for some very impressive and showy sounds. Look up some math rock tapping if you wanna see that style of playing taken to it's fullest. "Midwest emo riffage" is a good, short vid. Edit: more info. Ok, so classical guitarists and modern guitarists have different terms. Pizz means something in classical guitar, but it's different from violin pizz. Pizz on classical guitar is a *muted* string pluck. In modern guitar, we call it palm muting, and it's very important in genres of guitar music like metal. Distorted palm muting is what gives metal music that chugging, machine gun kind of sound.
I absolutely love your arrangement of this piece and your performance is stunning . I've been looking for a good arrangement for so long, is there any way I could get my hands on the sheet music if there is any?
This is tremendous. I've been thinking about a guitar arrangement / transcription of Erlkonig for years. Really great work it captures the character of the piece perfectly!
@@vikigmd8975 thanks for checking in. I realized that some of the later sections are more difficult than I anticipated, so it’s become a longer term project. I still play the opening quite often, for fun 🤩, but I’m still a mile away from being able to perform it. It is still on my radar, though. Truth is, I’ve been lacking motivation for learning new rep lately. Classical gigs have been pretty scarce and I’ve basically been a jazz musician full time for the past year.
@@vikigmd8975 I’ve jumped back in again since this comment and now it’s well on its way. Just did a full play through at a nearly passable tempo, and I’m not as far from it as I thought before. Thanks again for asking how it’s going. It will be performable soon 😁😁😁
Great arrangement and performance! Is it possible to get access to the notated arrangement somehow? Would be a challenge, for sure, but would be fun to give it a try :)
That was incredible!! We can hear his breathing, but the focused look he gives proves how intense this music is, regardless of the instrument you play it with.
Thank you all for your feedback and support! It means a lot. The score is available here: productionsdoz.com/product/9026-erlk-nig

Literally Perfect.
I sat my phone down when this music started playing and thought “what lovely performance by guitar and piano”. Astounding and a joy to listen.
Amazing this guy is like a metronome with feelings. such a great artist
Incredible!! Both the trancription and the interpretation!
Delightful!
I can hear Dietrich Fischer singing in my head to this beautiful piece.
Tolle Transkription, sehr gut gespielt und interpretiert.

This left me completely speechless - amazing
Absolutely amazing
Thanks and kudos, Johan!
Absolument brillant !

This is incredible. Thank you very much for uploading this nice video.
Ich liebe schubert und deine Ernsthaftigkeit.
Wundervoll!!!
Bought the sheet music today and started working on this. Great arrangement!
It’s going very well 😁 8 days in, I can play up to the C major section (a little more than halfway). Gets a bit harder from there 😬 wish me luck
How is it going rn. Did u learn it or drop it?

Hey, I love this!! This piece and the fact that you made an arrangement from the violin repertoire.
Actually, this piece was originally for voice and piano. Then Ernst decided to try hard it for violin solo
bravo!
Goosebumps! I love it!!!
Bravo!! 👏👏👏
Respect
This is now my goal!
Brevíssimo
Genius

WOW
Mais...où est le deuxième guitariste?! :D Splendide!! Bravo Johan!
Cameraman is so obsessed with this guy that he won't even show us 2nd guitarist.
It is a streak of mist
¿It does not matter if use this one for a Spanish version of this song?
Wow
Que temazo
Vivas para el Guitarrista .
If i can ever play this i'll be in guitar heaven
🤯
i liked this performance much better than te one you played at siccas, beautifull moving and amaze great energy
LETS GOOOOO
It's amazing he's so calm while his fingers are on fire from shredding so fuckin hard! Amazing performance
🤩😍
I thought that Recuerdos de la Alhambra is the most difficult piece with tremolo. Seems like I was wrong.
❤🧡💚🌼

😣👍💕
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
facial expression transition at 1:59
Why does it feel like he’s going to kiss the guitar at 1:55 no offense. Great transcription btw!
LING LING IS HERE
Time to bust out the ol Yamaha C40...
Damn....so switching instruments does NOT make this piece easier 😂😂😂😂😂
Musically I’m a potato but I felt like the kid should be a touch higher.
Too slow, if you are faster may be the kid will survive !!!
Wonderful
Bravo!
