This was a great final! It was so close between them. But kvitova just played the most important points the best. Hope to see these two at it again at the French open final.
My top 10 for Roland Garros 1. Simona Halep- She’s not in the best form but she’s s clay courter, she’ll make a mark one way or another. 2. Petra Kvitova- I didn’t want to put her at 1 because clay isn’t her best surface and I just don’t think she can win 7 games in a row, she’ll get into the quarters though. 3. Kiki Bertens- Typical clay court player, she knows the slam very well and the surface with a semi final appearance 2 years ago. 4. Garbine Muguruza- Winner in 2016, and Wimbledon winner, she always finds some sort of bonus at slams, she knows the surface and I think she can do damage. 5. Caroline Wozniacki- She’s gotten more aggressive and still has the great defense, a match made in heaven for clay, but she needs to be careful To night hold back, she does it quite frequently under pressure. 6. Jelena Ostapenko- Having won here as world number 50, we can all say she’s capable at world number 5, we know it’s now her newly favourite slam! 7. Elina Svitolina- She’s capable of making it deep, she practically did, untill Halep made one of the biggest comebacks to beat her last year, so close yet so far. 8. This one is joint, I’m including 3 french players here, Kristina Mladenovic, Caroline Garcia, and Aluze Cornet, their last year showing was fantastic and With the home crowd behind them, they could be in with an outside chance. 9. My last joint one, The Aussies, Daria Gavrilova has power and defense but it just doesn’t seem to click, I feel like she finds it at slams, so let’s see. Ash Barty is new to the tour, not entirely, She’s Rosen up to number 17 in the world, and why should she stop now, her slice is a force to be reckoned with. And lastly Sam Stosur, the power and topspin is too big for some, finalist in 2010, semi finalist in 2016, round of 16 in 2017, She’s very consistent here and what’s really going to stop her, maybe her surgery, her shots haven’t been the same since, but as she’s ending her career I think she has one last push. 10. (Don’t get mad) Maria Sharapova- We can all agree on parts of this, we know she’s won it twice, it’s debated wether she really won it, but no medication can help you play on a certain surface, and although Maria’s big flat shots, she’s dominated the clay, when she’s on, she is really on, but she has some weaknesses, but I feel at a slam, she’s going to be hard to beat. Other players that deserve a mention Williams Sisters Carla Suarez Navarro Victoria Azarenka Karolina Pliskova Daria Kasatkina
I really love Petra because she is always so fearless when she plays but she is the most humble and respectful opponent when the match is over whatever the result is she always shows how kind she is in her everyday life
totally, I can still hardly believe how well she's moving here - obviously except the third set where she was exhausted, not sure if her asthma had anything to do with that. but in general her movement and some technical shots are like 100% better than a few years ago.

Ostapenko hasn't been consistent in big tournaments this year, neither has Muguruza. Azarenka i think needs more matches. Svitolina struggles to get wins after round 4. Garcia also struggles to make second week of slams. Wozniacki not great on clay with lack of power. Kerber also not great on clay and i think is back from injury this week in rome.
