Wow Lucas, first thank you so very much for presenting this tutorial. I can’t imagine what time you spent on creating this and compiling all the added information. Thank you so very much. The tutorial is fantastic.

I have had the Schaaf tools for several years now and really love them. I have other brands too, most of them much more expensive but the Schaaf tools have consistently performed among the best. The customer service has always been first rate and very responsive.

I have had my Schaaf full set for several years and love it. What I REALLY REALLY REALLY WISH is that Schaaf would introduce a detail set with finer v and u gouges and sweeps. (Pssstttt… Beavercrap has one and their tools aren’t nearly as nice and cost more). The fishtail set just doesn’t cover it… I have to look to other brands for finer v and deep u gouges. Great video by the way.

    Great video Thanks
Unfortunately we can't get Cotton wood in the UK, I watch so many videos from the US and Canada, they all carve with this beautiful wood which looks to carve like butter, here all our wood is like carving Iron, this makes it very difficult to learn, I wonder what my alternatives would be in England?

Hey Steve, can you get basswood?

    • @stevew585

@@SchaafTools After some research the best to carve here in the UK is either Lime or Poplar, I can get Basswood blocks on Ebay but prefer roots and bark.

Help us know about the wood itself, please. Dry as possible? Type that’s good, and what type should be avoided? Thank you very much!

Hi, Lucas uses cottonwood bark. If you can't get ahold of cottonwood bark, he recommends basswood. I'm not sure about the dryness.
