    The Russian and Chinese military are paranoid about US ballistic missile intercept capabilities (some of which are known and others rumors) and have prioritized hypersonic payload delivery methods as a mean of maintaining deterrence.
    The Russian use of such a weapon in Ukraine was very dramatic overkill for propaganda purposes.
    Indeed hypersonic weapons in general are kinda overkill as it's rather unlikely the USA could really prevent an arsenal of 500+ conventional ICBMS from causing catastrophe anyway. The MAAD principle never went away, and Russia was probably better off having spent that money on upgrading their conventional forces, especially in regards to conventional aerospace technologies, logistical support networks and joint strike capabilities which have clearly been lacking compared to what the USA is capable of.
    Plus in general it's not like the USA doesn't have its own hypersonic capabilities, they already have a working hypersonic breathing propulsion missile for example.
    Plus the Pentagon isn't exactly known to be the most transparent or honest organization on the planet. Case in point in 2004 they yeeted a hypersonic vehicle from NASA and since then it's largely been radio silence about what intrest the department of defense has in such a platform. I'm sure that the USA has zero space warfare capabilities...
    The Pentagon is perfectly happy to hype up Russian and Chinese capabilities. In reality though it's rather obvious the USA isn't really behind at all.
    Fear and paranoia gets money. Being the overfunded titan of the world with more money than you know what to do with doesn't really get the same public support for such bloated spending.

      Ya but imagine it gets faster and faster and smarter and more dynamic. Imagine it going 60+× speed of sound and has a drone in it with 500+ km range or thousands of km range. Imagine it has a tungsten heavy tip to destroy carriers and ships or hit deep. Imagine if it can go to outer space too and has stealth capabilities. Imagine if fhis ICBM missile has actually multiple missiles within like a cluster bomb. As weell as it has guns on it to shot anything close buy like a jet or a rocket trying to take it down by an AI. That is where it can go if they get developed more in an arm race. Imagine if it goes 200× speed of sound?

      @@ailediablo79 and? What's the point. We already have thousands of nuclear weapons in the world, it's not like the earth doesn't already have more deadly weapons than they can afford. The future of military will be more and more efficient regular armaments, not hyper destructive ones. And this recent war is perfectly displaying it

    • @ailediablo79
      @ailediablo79 2 года назад +1

      @@MrFrescocotone the point is one side might get the ability to nuk the other without the other has any chance of doing so because they didn't shot first. Thus you get into a situation where each is scared to be wipe out because if they don't shot the other moght did shot and they then shot eachothers or one side wipeout the other.

    Cost vs benefit. At the end of the day, it's used to make something go boom. It can be achieved in multiple ways. Saturation attacks/ Stealth jets/ Drones/ special ground forces or a really expensive way to launch. But at the end of the day you never know how useful a technology is until you have it.

      Ookrain propaganda that the USA originaly was hosest and said no it didn't intercept a kinzal. Then oorkane was in mod agreement. Kiev mayor had a fake missile prop , then the US went with the bs lie not to make Patriot look bad after two launchers were destroyed by kinzal. So stop believing complete bs. Like Ukraine is winning. Or how Russia is so weak bs. MSM narrative has fell apart, you can only hide the truth so long.

    Yeah it's not a thing yet.. you need to light up a match inside a jet that is going faster than a hurricane, and that is not achieved yet.. and starting a missile from a supersonic plane is not a hypersonic system.
