My local pub near closing time on a Saturday night plays this every single time without fail, and you always get people young and old joining in for the chorus, perfect!
One of the all time great tv themes. The only tv intro that was like a video Haynes manual. A who's who of classic Fords from the 80s. And what brilliant music. Kenny is an absolutely fantastic composer. Waterman absolutely killing it on vocals. Perfection. TV used to be fun you know 😁
Ohhhh mate, Arthur Daley 😂. What an absolute legend that character was and played so perfectly by George Cole (RIP). He was the original wheeler and I use to remember proper feeling sorry for Terry every time it was pay day 😂. You just knew that if you were a minder for someone like Arthur that you’d have to work for your money for all the comebacks on his dodgy deals haha. Loved that show. All the greats back then, before during and after such as the Sweeney, Only fools and horses, Inspector Morse, Porridge an so on and so forth. Good times. Whilst I’m on the subject, the sweeney and Morse, another superb actor, John Thaw, what a loss to the world that guy was too.
RIP George Cole, What a great series to grow up with in the 80s , I never missed a show, great acting, great fun and great memories, Classic for sure!!
Love the little grins tel and arfur give each other after they get out of the Capri......what a great series. Hint of realism and comedy. We dont seem to get that now.....
Brilliant program, still watching the re runs on ITV4 now in October 2019,still as good today as it was "Back in the day"-Terry and Arthurs chemistry is timeless, don`t think I`ll ever tire of it.
RIP George Cole, Arthur was a great character in all senses of the word, and don't worry about your "slate" at the Winchester Club, I'll settle up with Dave....
Soo many happy memories watching these shows as a kid with the family! (50 plus now). Hope Tel gets his wedge from Arthur when he arrives, but!, knowing Arthur Daley he wont due to the 'down turn' in the second hand Angel wings trade!. 🙂 Thanks also for the other great shows.
ITV really did make some truly excellent shows. This, The Saint, The Sweeney, The Professionals, Auf Wiedersehen Pet. They weren't afraid to focus the stories on hard men, and always added a dash of humour. Great mix, all with punchy theme tunes.
I loved this show as a teenager in the 80s and still do. I thought then and still think that Patrick Malahide (Inspector Chisolm) was just gorgeous! Really sorry to hear of the death of Denis Waterman... may he and George Cole rest in peace. Thank you guys for making this show one of the best. 💖💖
Rest in peace Dennis, loved the way you done this. The videos filmed on streets and top of the pops one rocked too. Also dont forgot original theme for actual show.
RIP Dennis Waterman, thanks for a great British classic show and theme tune. Say hello to George Cole when you see him, you’re both reunited in the Winchester Club in the sky
A goal of mine is to watch as many British TV shows as I can, and I stumbled across Minder at the library last month. I finished watching Season 1 two weeks ago, and now I'm watching The Sweeney. When I looked up info on The Sweeney, I JUST found out Dennis Waterman sings this song! I LOVE this song. I told my hubby I wished I would of known about it when we got married-I could of used this as our 1st song as husband/wife.I especially love the background singers. They sound so lively & crazy.
Isn’t it amazing how music takes you right back to where you were at that time my dad’s favourite show and I was only allowed to see the beginning of this and hear the song and then go to bed I just heard this song on my 80s channel and had to look it up on my god and I remember the show myself! I’m thinking to myself who is it what TV show is it from?? Ahhh MINDER’! In Australia I don’t know if it was on Sundays I don’t think so
George Cole and Dennis Waterman worked together like father and son in their TV minder series but George always reminds us of his love for her in doers.
Just a lovely sitcom !! . A motor trader befriending a customer just out of prison . And they start an adventure ! . ( i bet "Her Indoors" was awful ) ... lol . RIP Dennis Waterman
When England was truly great. RIP George Cole. The star of George Minter's 1951 Scrooge. And the man who made "The World Is Your Lobster" a popular phrase.
I could be so good for you, I'll be right by your side Love you like you want me to There ain't nothin' you can hide from me I'd be so good for you I could be so good for you I'm your man, Love you like you want me to I'll tell you nothin', there ain't nothin', nothin' I cannot do I'll be so goo-ood for you
i think a mate of mine bought a car of affar daley motors in the west end, had a issue with the sawdust in the differential and the gearbox but the manager was on holidays in spain, funny that!

In Deutschland lief die Serie in den 80ziger Jahren unter dem Titel "Der Aufpasser." Warum wird die Serie nicht mal wiederholt?
