WHO ELSE AFTER REDISCOVERING THIS CLASSIC FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE IT AIRED IN THE EARLY 90S, HAD 2 LISTEN TO IT AT LEAST 2 OR MORE TIMES? PERSONALLY PLAYED IT ABOUT 5 TIMES SINCE I DISCOVERED IT YESTERDAY, WHAT A TUNE! 🤗
Yep, Minder, Only Fools n Horses, The A-Team, NightRider, Baywatch(lol), also cartoons like Thundercats, inspector Gadget, Gunmy Bears etc, all proper fun classics you'd b humming all day!
no friend you are right , i blame technology for taking away that innocence of the 80`s you think about, i remember having to go to my pal door to meet them when nowadays if your not on facebook you dont exist lol
it did feel much better back then and it also occurred to me just earlier today that chrildrens tv was definitely much better if like me you grew up with bagpuss and ivor the engine??? happiest days of our lives.
massive +1. you dont have to even go back to 80s but early part of last decade was bettet before folk started liveing there livrs through facebook instead of face to face socialiseing down the pub. not to mention the horror that is internet dateing
What a totally great theme tune and video. I echo the sentiment that it is great to see a guy standing up for the greater good in these british series! Was very sorry to hear the actor died relatively young from alcohol abuse. He seemed very charismatic.....I guess we all hide demons within heyRIP Michael Elphick.....thank you for the memories
I liked him too but in all honesty he was NOT taken too soon. Everyone ultimately has responsibility for themselves and he drank excessively for decades.
I remember my Dad watching this downstairs whilst I was upstairs having gone to bed.. I used to ask him to turn up this soundtrack because I loved it. I just heard it for the first time since I was a kid and it takes me back. Dad passed away in 2019 and this makes me so nostalgic, happy and sad too. Good times ☺️🙌💫💫❤️
boon was the daddy ..a man with nothing .who would give you his last to help anyone eho needed it ..put his neck on the line to help the poor ......have we changed so much .since then .....song and boon tops god bless Michael e
I remember being given a cassette tape for my birthday of music from tv shows with this on it. I wasn’t allowed to watch the show as I had primary school the next day. This song takes me back.
Jim Diamond from aged 16 played and sang with all the rock and rolls greats like Genesis, ACDC, Gerry Rafferty, wrote for top American rockers, lived with them in the sates, Billed with The Sensational Alex Harvey and countless other great bands back in the day, discovered by the legend Father of British Bluesman Alexis Korner. Jims unique one off voice suited Rock and ballads, he became so much of peoples lives and memories a very loved musician all over Europe, The States, Britain and of course Scotland. He did achieve greatness in his musical life backed by everything from rock bands to swing bands and full orchestra's and is greatly appreciated by the legends of music and by the common lad and lass in the street who actually knows what music and personality is actually about. Keep an eye out for the shadow of the horse in the moonlight night!! RIP Big man and Thank You
By far the best theme song for any series ever made. This song was the reason me and mates went home to watch this ehrn it was on. Great series but it was the song that attracted you to it at least in you're youth days anyways. Jim diamond you are a legend and will be sadly missed!
I am a 22 year old american going through rough times and when i found this show i have never related to another man so well boon is the kind of man i aspire to be
+Mr JoKeRFyD I feared you might say that.... But it is true....I only clicked on this vid after listenin to the theme from Brushstrokes? Dexys? Remember that little nugget??
what an underrated talent great "stand out" voice bought all his music in the early days R.I.P. jim -my condolences to his wife and family -Ron Moore -liverpool
Marvellous clip , 'Thanks' . Michael Elphick was a vastly under rated actor and was perfect for this part , he added a certain 'commoness' that I think we all need to appreciate . R.I.P. 'Boon'
Ha Ha! I couldn't believe it, I was off work the other week and watched 2 episodes. Such a blast from the past. I watched the pilot too. I freaking loved this theme tune. I'm going to do a punky/dance/dubstep remix.
Every time I see someone with a black leather biker jacket I say "Rocky" to this day. I was born in 1972 and left school in 1989 and it was the best time ever to be growing up. Technology had started to become more widely available and was actually enhancing our lives not like today where it's taken over our lives. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Very true TV is nothing like the 80s 90s it's full of stupid chat shows, reality shows where celebs get more famous by acting stupid...the old drama, Sweeney, boon, minder, Howard's way, professionals, only fools, porridge, open all hours... that was TV as I remember 😁
True. They always show old TV series' like this in great big chunks so that they don't last the way they used to when you were a kid, but if they alternate them a bit more , like showing several over the course of a day then the series will last longer and they won't run out of content so quickly. It's a bit of a shame the old Bravo channel went bust or something coz they used to show a lot of old TV shows like these
Excellent TV show. I was allowed to stay up late and watch it with my mum, and Minder with dad. Good times. They filmed it in Derbyshire and I can remember seeing the film crew sometimes.
I miss growing up in the 80s😭 if i could go back in time and relive it i would cause the 80s was a far better and respected generation then it is today..... R.I.P Michael Elphick and Jim Diamond
Good old RUclips comes through again. I used to love this show when I was younger, hard to believe it was around 86-92. I was 14 in 86. I've been catching some re-runs on Sky telly and I have to admit we had some great TV drama back then, no mobile phones anywhere, haha.! It prompted me to do a little web search on the show and I had totally forgot Michael had died in '02. Thanks for a great TV show.

Sweet Jesus.... This is frigging blast from the past. I always remember this being left on whether mum was watching TV or not. And it was one of the extensively more promoted shows of the time. To be little again.
I am suddenly 12 Years old again and my mum and Dad are still around 😢😢
Same my friend, this tune has for 3 minutes brought my parents back and we are sitting in the living room watching this.
❤
:-(
The same for me as well
Ditto my friend exactly the same age
Awesome blast from the past. Used to watch this as a wee boy with my late parents. Life was simple back in them days. What a great show.
Same here...Both of my parents gone...
Still an absolutely epic track, and forever will be known as the Boon song. RIP, Micheal and Jim.
Love this song- awesome
I remember this being on tv when I was a kid..the theme tune just came into my head again today after all these years.
And suddenly my childhood is coming back to me. It's such a shame shows like this don't get made any more.
This, minder, La Law, London’s Burning, all the memories of late nights with school the next day
Soldier soldier!!!
Good ole days!
Lovejoy
Casualty the bill. So many great shows and innocent ones too
It was a big thing to have it recorded on VHS
I've had this song in my head for the past few days. Reminds me of being a kid and getting to stay up late to watch it. Think it was on ITV at 9pm.
Tagging you to put this song back in your head, 9yrs later @Drewbain1
Mate, Mrs asked when I had to go bed as a kid and this came in my head 😂😂 #9pmbedtimeclub
This was mine & my mum's tv show & we played it at her funeral 6 years ago 🤗🤗🤗& it will be played at mine😇😇😇😇
🤩
A few years ago I made it my business to watch every episode from start to finish. They were all on the sky box.

Had it on repeat since I listened to it last night for the first time since I was a kid. What a tune 💯💖
It's started 86 dude. Did run for 9 yrs though. Loved it way more than Howard's way lol
Yep.
Early 90's? And the rest. This started airing in 1986! Use to watch it then.
Absolutely love this tune, was it me or were themes in the 80's and 90's so much better than now.
Damn right. Epic tunes.
That’s because often they employed real musicians to write the themes. These days it’s often an ‘off the shelf’ theme.
Yep, Minder, Only Fools n Horses, The A-Team, NightRider, Baywatch(lol), also cartoons like Thundercats, inspector Gadget, Gunmy Bears etc, all proper fun classics you'd b humming all day!
Everything was better then.
Much better back then ❤
Great song, great singer, great show, great actor - need one say more?
Thanks for the memories!
I miss the 80, s and early 90, s always watched this :(. Is it me or didnt life seem simpler then

Matthew Lavender I agree - Facebook and the like would be better named "anti-social media".
Agreed, the best times ever was the 80's and 90's!
Wish I could go bk and live the 80 s again life is to serious now
Brilliant singer and the song itself has stood the test of time . Great series as well
One of the best TV theme tunes 😀

I have just realised what awesome is.
One of the best theme tune ever
I wish I could go back to those years of Boon. Life was so simple and non screwed up back then.
Amen 🙏
What a totally great theme tune and video. I echo the sentiment that it is great to see a guy standing up for the greater good in these british series! Was very sorry to hear the actor died relatively young from alcohol abuse. He seemed very charismatic.....I guess we all hide demons within heyRIP Michael Elphick.....thank you for the memories

Sad loss Jim Diamond and of course so was Michael Elphick who played Boon in one of my all time favourite TV shows
Loved this programme growing up and the theme tune brilliant program
Just watching this on Drama. Love this tune so much, brings me back to my childhood. Wish I could do it all over again 😢
I'm watching the complete Boxed set.
@@elainehart7831 I saw it in HMV in the Bullring, nearly £80 it cost so didn't buy it. Would have done if it was alot cheaper than that!

I love this theme one of the best TV themes there is
Listening as a tribute to Jim Diamond - great singer passed far too young. Boon was a series and a half too.
I never watched this show, but I'd watch the opening every chance I got.
The show was just as good as the theme tune.
@@eightiesboy I'd second this. Proper good pre soap saturation TV.
Used to watch this on a Sunday night when i was 10 years old. Great show and great song.

Reeling from the discovery after all these years that this was sung by a fella
Watching on BritBox!💕💕💕

Great uplifting tune. Seriously good program.
Jim Diamond,What a singer the wee man is....!
Loved watching this as a kid, God I feel old😀
Sometimes I sit yeah
Feeling alone
No one to talk to
I got no telephone
And at night I wake up
I just lie and stare
Come on and save me from this nightmare
Hi Ho Silver
Here come the Lone Ranger
He's riding on down
To rescue me
I know the road I must take
With a wink of my eye
I leave old friends behind like old alibi
I'll take all they throw against me
I make a stand
For truth and justice and for the common man
Hi Ho Silver
Here come the Lone Ranger
He's riding on down
To rescue me
And I guess it took some time
For me to decide
If you were just my hero or my friend
Watching with my innocent eyes
Your silver stallion ride
Across my room I listen as they cried
Hi Ho Silver
Here come the Lone Ranger
He's riding on down
To rescue me
Rescue me
Nice work, you've edited all the different intros perfectly.
