Each one teach one. Dropping the knowledge. Thank you!
Let's get this man some acoustic treatment for that echo-y room.
Bro ahahaha is it that annoying? I probably wouldn't want it to be honest, I don't want my space to look like studio. I'll figure it out with more shelves and paintings on the wall. Thanks though I appreciate you 🙏🏼
@@mpchead I was just going to write the same thing. Do you have a dedicated microphone or are you recording from your camera? Because it sounds like the latter
Maybe use a mic indeed! It would do the videos good. But I also understand that you don’t want to make it look like a studio too much.
That's that "warehouse reverb.."
@mpchead I agree, your space is beautiful, not need for these pesky little foams.
I think some nice carpets and maybe some tapestry would do the job better.
Nowadays you can find also some nicer looking panels without the egg crate pattern on them.Maybe look into these ones.
You obviously don't want to create a dead space but a touch of soundproofing would be nice
if it sounds good it sounds good. it’s that simple! great advice for the newcomers bro, keep it coming
Thanks ✌🏼
Dope Content; heck yea... Very inspirational
Appreciate it!🙌🏼
Insightful as always...🎯
Thx for the knowledge drop! Positive inputs for everyone!
Great Video, lots of great info. And that Introscreen, that view is so amazing 😍
Felt a lot of frustration on my Live 2 over the last week regarding samples. What you're saying makes a lot of sense when you consider the time wasted. Thanks for your thoughts bro. 👊🏾
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for tuning in ✌🏼
Perfect take on how to create a balanced beat. I always look forward to your craft on the device. Also that you share your philosophy - great cinema. each one teach one. keep it up...
Thanks for tuning in ✌🏼
Good content and info! I sub, keep up the good work
Nice content
great video...thanks
Good talk! All about listening to A LOT of samples/music and with experience you know what works
Exactly! 💯
Great perspective! I have fallen into the trap of searching that way for years.
Outstanding content. I felt like I was a student again at the University of Miami, taking notes from my Music Appreciation professor! (I actually did take that course) Blessings, Marlo! And Happy Father's Day!
Thank you, appreciate the comment. 🙏🏼
My mothafuckin man 💪🏽 cool that you took a class on music appreciation !

Great advise, sound selections are the key to a great sounding song. Hola from La Paz, MX.
Thanks for tuning in ✌🏼
This was great info!
This was REALLY good content. Great food for thought. I struggle will adding the right amount of things to the track i dont want my tracks to be too bland but i also dont want the track to sound too crowded.
That's also a debate, when to stop ✋🏼 hard to say.
I remember hearing once that of the Neptunes, Pharell would often add too much and Chad Hugo's main job would be working out what the beats didn't need that Pharrell had added.
Ohhh that's why I always get so picky when looking for a sample. Thanks man!
loving the new studio 🤘
Great insight, thanks bro 👊🏼
🙌🏼
It was good content :D
Definitely good content!
Appreciate it!
Obrigado pelo conselho, Marlow! Me fez pensar fora dessa "prisão" de buscar algo que talvez não exista, invés de deixar fluir... Forte abraço, tudo de bom sempre!
Força 💪🏼
Thas Also how I move homie- I feel you on this.. Look at the “window patterns” on the ‘MAIN WINDOW of these “old Churches! It’s shaped into the same ‘form that a frequency structure makes, and with a Pipe Organ normally is placed underneath THAT window.. I believe, it is to summons the Holy Spirit before the Holy Sermon. FREQUENCY? That, I do believe is a lost technology that we have been hidden from. Happy Father’s Day Mr. Marlow- God Bless you and your family 🙏🏼
What is a "frequency ", please?
And remember that we retuned to A 440Hz from A 432Hz!
In my humble option I think the better djs are the djs who blend their frequencies. At the end of the day the human anatomy is created to respond to frequencies whether good are bad.
"their" frequencies. "anatomy". And the human anatomy isn't "created to respond to frequencies".

Bro! This is so good! You should setup a Patreon account, and then do a break down with examples of the process. Don't get me wrong. I love free content, but I am also willing to pay for information that will help me improve, and enhance my musical journey at a deeper level. Showing a detailed break down of information like this, and your other content has value. If you make it affordable. You gain something, and so do we.
I got Patreon bro, thanks for tuning in to the channel. ✌🏼
I saw it about 10mins after posting this. I am going to be getting the $20 a month next month. I really need that one, on one scheduled. I got to much in my head, and I need a Jedi master's wisdom to help me remove the weeds. For now I will be going through your video's, and build up a list of questions that can me figure out what I most need help with. @@mpchead
Bruh ~ Thas what I’m talking about
Sound selection and placement solves 90% of mix issues before they happen.
Without doubt, composition and arrangement are your most important mixing tools.
Seems so obvious but people overlook it all the time.
Your English is excellent and you don't even have a Portuguese accent. How did you get your English to such a good level?
Started at a very young age and lived in the UK for many years. Also watch tones of films daily for years and years.
@@mpchead Thanks for the reply. Living in the UK as a kid will do it! I'm from the UK but my kids were born in Indonesia and live here. They speak English and Bahasa Indonesia natively.
Love the channel and always look out for your videos!
I just talked about that last night with friends, and we tought about lord finesse, we felt that he bring, this frequency add on, all this "goodies" effect...was a major turn for hh producing. But when you realize that, you think about all big producer got their own touch about that . using un usual frequented/ sounds effect like primo, recreate some Rhodes's like by Jay Dee..
Feel you on this, so many times I think I got a dope beat but realize it has no sonic depth ugh.
Love hearing about this topic! You should do more on this with some specific examples. I really struggle with the low-end part. I don't understand how you pick the samples to fill in the low-end after you've already worked with a sample that covers the mid or high end frequencies. Most of the time I just use a synth to play in a bass line because I can't find any sample that really works for that role.
I'll try to explore more of these topics in the future.
Listening to frequencies. Thank you for the guidance. Do you ever listen to music with a high pass on to keep from being distracted by the low end groove? Hmm...... 🤔
I do yes, check this out ruclips.net/video/nakNrfG1cbk/видео.html
✌️Marlow! Can I ask what camera you use? Love the look of your content.
I'm using the Black Magic 6k pro with the 18 to 35mm from sigma ✌🏼
Hey Marlow! Long time fan here, I was wondering if your drum loop process has changed at all? If so would love to see another video on how you put your drum loops together! Cheers
I haven't change much at all, I am pretty happy with the groove I get. The only thing I am messing with more nowadays is the sonics of the drums. If I ever get something to say about it I ll share it.
Would you make a video on the creative block and how you cope with those periods of lack of motivation? There is that part of the process where you experiment, learn and finally get comfy with the whole process and quality of your beats. I am in that stage where everything seems easy and suddenly, I don't feel any more motivated to produce. This is a hobby to me, so I don't have the economic incentive of keep rolling. Thanks.
That's an interesting comment, I'll make some ideas around this.
Thanks for sharing this info. Do you use anything to view frequencies or just your ears. Im looking for some visual help as well as my ears. Also this is an informative / help video. Its not meant to sound perfect. Dont listen to the haters. Im also thinking of using an I/O device with my mpc1 instead of using its converters. Im thinking ssl2 cause im broke. You think it will make any difference in quality?
If you're talking about the extreme sibilance, who are these "haters"?
P R O M O S M
Only frequency I’m hearing from this RUclips is the horrible reverb.
Time for some room treatment bro.
All do respect I like the reverb
it's interesting even audio/music/sound based channels would invest way more into video than sound. But I'm sure he is aware of the room reverb situation, it might be a new space.
@@dizlerimkupsis I use headphones, I haven't used speakers in more than 15 years. To be honest I don't even understand why the sound of the room is so terrible to listeners, I honestly prefer the sound of the room than a boxed sound. Just my preference.
Lost a viewer mate.
Can’t handle the talking with it.
Best of luck with the reverb.
@@Bibblebabbler Thanks I appreciate that
