When I first watched this, I was blown away, and Maria’s sacrifice was sad, but what broke me was Shadow begging for her to listen so she wouldn’t have to die, but she couldn’t let the G.U.N. Soldiers have their way with him, so she did what she had to do. Poor Shadow, all he could do was watch…..😭
So true poor Shadow😭
It’s even worse to think about because he was immediately recaptured by GUN anyways. So her sacrifice was in vain. Shadow truly has a tragic, tragic backstory.

@@heartsforstephencurry I mean, this pretty much covered it. If you have the time, watch the cutscenes for Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog.
Basically, Gerald Robotnik was tasked by GUN to create an immortal being that would help them in the military, but Gerald wanted to use the creature he would create to save Maria. He tried to re-create the God of Chaos but failed, keeping those experiments locked up on the ark. He tried to make the ultimate life form with the bio lizard but also failed and kept that locked up. Eventually an alien race with a leader named Black Doom came by on their comet as they do every 50 years, made a deal with Gerald so he could create the ultimate life form, and Gerald created Shadow. A boy who also lived on the arc saw Black Doom and told the military about it.
Over time the military decided to shut down project Shadow due to how dangerous it was. When they infiltrated the Ark, Maria and shadow were trying to escape. They had to fight through the artificial chaos and eventually ended up in the escape pod room. GUN soldier kills Maria, Maria sends shadow to earth, Gerald hears of Maria’s death and alters shadow to destroy the earth since Maria was killed. GUN then keeps shadow locked up since they can’t kill him for 50 years until Eggman releases him.
It made me cry 😢😢😢

I gotta say that Joao and the crew set the bar HIGH for a fan film and they knew where to hit us in the feels. The effects, the music, the lines....I was in complete awe. And for MIKE POLLOCK to voice his part??!! I was THROUGH!!! Awesome react, Movie!

shadow deserves a new family to make him happy again and this annoys me couse sonic and shadows relationship in the cannon is so dumb.
you know why their relationship in sonic prime works even though it felt like a ship it's couse we see sonic and shadow switch positions we see sonic lose everything and being constantly blamed for it while shadow is trying to help him and trys to bring them back home.
and you want to know the worst part of shadows situation gun blamed shadow for all of this just for being born and in the future them turning on him like in o6 is possible.
sonic the character who always lives for moment and puts trust and faith in others even when they don't deserve it eggman and surge and gave a life goes on speech from sonic black knights wasn't their when shadow needed him most the ending of shadows story in o6 is basically how sonic would've been with shadow, I don't see a rivalry I see a character who is capable of helping another character from themselves and lonelyness yet isn't allowed to.
in sonic x the situation of shadow telling sonic they weren't that different and the entire part of eggman telling sonic his dark form is him finding himself like a sortan hedgehog they know (shadow) shows...hero shadow the form from shadows game is literally shadow finding himself becoming more like sonic form opposite of dark shadow both confirmed by black dooms quote question and the sonic news network awakened when the gauges are full
