  • In this video we are checking out Park Beyond a roller-coaster simulation park building construction game that was released in June 2023,
Subjects covered in the video, a snappy rundown on the campaign gameplay, talking about bugs and issues I had, addressing the gimmick of impossification and playing the role of devil's advocate regarding DLC, sharing my honest thoughts as we go.
Additionally I want to add here that a few things are missing from this game that are in other coaster simulations like water rides and transport and I did leave a few points out of the video like this to ensure overall video quality, as i follow the rule quality over quantity
Sidenote, when I say new DLC I acataully mean newest as in latest one, not new as in just come out.
Thanks for reading and watching this video

Glad you enjoyed it! Still working on the worlds, background and avatar so its good that even in this early stage people can tell what I'm trying to achieve on the channel, thanks for watching

very nice and thorough review, im subbing ! I also agree with you, they just added DLC suddenly now and did not care to add more content to the base game. pretty disapointed with how small the roller coaster variation we have here in the base game. I bought and refund on launch day, might buy again now due to high discount and give it another try.

Thanks for comment and the sub! Yeah, it had the potential to be an amazing park builder but instead we have to settle due to the lack of ride options, its the little things they missed also that add up, like not being able to edit paths to change the handrail and path style is something that should have been included from day one and not an update lol Yeah on sale is the way to go with this one.

is it better than planet coaster?

    • @levelOneAnimator
      @levelOneAnimator  Месяц назад

Simple put, it's not, just different, it runs better on all platforms and you can make fuller parks without the game feeling like it's in slow motion haha although has downsides like decorations and offering fewer rides, it's more arcade in terms of gameplay and PC leans more towards SIM

You hardly scratched the surface of this game and forgot to compare it to the state Planet Coaster was when it was launched in November of 2016. There are actually more rides, more decoration themes, more decoration objects, more variety in maps and more campaign missions than Planet Coaster upon the day it was launched. As for the amount of roller coasters, there appear to be only three, but Planet Coaster didn't have many more either. In Planet Coaster each different car type was added as a separate, but not different coaster. This way the developers boosted the volume and made it look like the game had a lot to offer, which wasn't actually the case. In Park Beyond, each coaster type offers at least five or six different car types, which would bring the total to at least 15 if they'd used the gawky UI style of Planet Coaster.

This is a strange comparison to make, why compare a current game state to one that is approaching 7 years ago because it's not relevant to the current offering, plus not to mention planet coaster was breaking new ground back then and it was harder to make a high detailed coaster game thanks to CPU and API limitations, although interesting to think about as a talking point, it doesn't help the people wanting to know what each offers today before buying, as for "hardly scratching the surface of the game".... you've lost me and I disagree, I covered more than enough and stand by the video, Planet coaster worked on the game a whole year before dropping DLC and the base game got more content before they did in Dec 2017, so if we are talking stages of development similarity, state just before first DLC would be the more relevant comparison to make and PC back then offered more.

@@levelOneAnimator Yeah this guys out his mind, saying you didn't cover it right based on a point you have to go back nearly 7 years ago to validate just shows how well you did cover it, I watched your video for a second time to see if you got more noticed because you clearly put effort into the video, don't listen to comments like this your doing more than great, it was a quality video

short answer: no.....Long answer: If you are looking for a fun game sure, but for those looking for realism there are better cheaper options

    1. get a better avatar
    2. you talk a lot but you do a looooooooooooooooooooooot of cuts and it's like why am I watching you flip from showing what you're talking about for 2 seconds then flip back to stock footage
    3. make use of the medium better instead of constant cuts that make me feel like i'm on roller coaster ride that I wish I got off

      1. "done" although that was a test run work in progress
      2. "last video was spoiler free so there is use of trailer footage but a lot of my own gameplay"
      3. I normally edit fps so faster cuts arn't normally an issue but yeah the pace as been tweaked, although you could have been a bit nicer about it, thanks for the imput, it actaully made me change the format a little
