Simply Magnificent band! It was very successful here in Brazil in the 1990s but there are still people who love this incredible band!... God bless you abundantly! Congratulations for the channel, and for bringing Christian bands.
Great song, great band. I miss the original singer, but I like this new singer too. I am glad to see that they are still going. I have seen them live several times (back in the 80s)
When Whitecross first hit Scott Wenzel did sound like Stephen Pearcy. I have been a fan since day one. Sunday nights on our local Christian Radio Station was all Rock and Metal. I learned of many awesome bands through that show. Rex Carol is definitely on the top of awesome Guitarist! To see him play live takes you to another place. Unbelievable Musician!!! ❤ Love it!
Great song and I saw them recently at the Immortal Fest you mentioned. They were great and that entire festival was killer! Just to let you know, the songs on this EP are actually the pre-production demo versions and the drums are programmed. The full length album will have real drums.
You’re spot on about them sounding like Ratt. That’s because of their previous singer. For me, that meant they were never my favorite. But I’d say this is the best song I’ve ever heard of theirs
Great review! I have all the Whitecross releases for the 1987-1996 period which is 8 albums and a compilation. I'll get these songs when they release a full album. The singer reminds me of a mix of Ronnie Dio, a less raspy/deeper version of Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Jeff Fenholt who sang on the Joshua 1985 album Surrender. Of course Rex Carroll and the other members are awesome on their instruments as well. If you want to research Whitecross further, they released a compilation called To the Limit the Best of Whitecross in 1993 with 2 unreleased songs. The CD is out of print but it's worth checking out online like discogs. They also rerecorded their first album with better production and released it in 2005 called Whitecross 1987 which you can check out as well. These albums are good representation of their earlier music. For me the first 3 albums from 1987-1989 are their best albums. They do have that RATT sound but also have a Van Halen sound and also an Aerosmith sound during their bluesier moments.
Yes, I definitely hear some Ronnie James Dio and Brian Johnson in those vocals. Really wish RJD would have done some Christian Metal like this, WOW! Maybe even a wee bit of Randy Rhodes from Ozzy and some EVH on them guitar riffs!!!
Check out Kerry livgren's seeds of change album if you want to hear Ronnie James sing some Christian songs. He is honestly a force to be reckoned with on that album.
You are correct about the previous singer sounding like Ratt. I have enjoyed Whitecross but almost exclusively for Rex Carroll’s guitar work. I just put up with the vocals previously. This new guy sounds really good.
🙀 I've followed them when they first came out. I never cared for the singer back then but always loved Rex Carroll's work. This is epic and I really love it. The whole band sounds outstanding. You picked a good one. Check out R Carroll in King James (Maximus) and Fierce Heart.
It's a good song. I enjoy their 80s albums, they're pretty good. For me I don't know why but the drum sound I don't really care for,but overall it's not a bad song.
I know why you don’t really care for the drum sound! It’s digital filler for this pre-production demo version. The full-length album will have the REAL Michael Feighan on drums. 😊🥁💕 ~wsm
Here is King James, another of Rex Carroll's project. You may have heard it before but here it is none the less. Same band as Whitecross but with Jimi Bennett on vocals. ruclips.net/video/2ryHTicq8Kw/видео.html
Killer tune. I listened to these guys some WAY back in the day. They had some good songs, but a lot of their stuff wasn't really "metal" enough for me so I got away from them. Definitely down for more of this!
Absolutely love it! I just seen them live! and bought this ep. The new Singer is a perfect fit....sounds incredible.

I've been listening to WHITECROSS for decades!
The guitar solo is classic Rex Carroll. I started listening to them in 1990, along with Guardian. Check out their Fire and Love album!
Rex is an incredible guitarist and I like the new singer as well the drummer has been playing with Rex and the band for years great band
Love Whitecross! Saw your video pop up on my feed and couldn't click quickly enough. Love your videos and reviews!!!!
Thanks my friend really appreciated that
New singer David Roberts.
You’re spot on about them sounding like Ratt. That’s because of their previous singer. For me, that meant they were never my favorite. But I’d say this is the best song I’ve ever heard of theirs
Yes, Scott Wenzel sounded a lot like Steven Pearcy. And Rex Carrol is GOAT on guitar.

I just saw them a few weeks ago.. I absolutely love them. They are opening for Stephen Pearcy this weekend in Ohio
First heard these guys in ‘91 and got to see them in a college university in ‘92
Great vocals and great guitar work. I remember them from back in the day. They've still got something pretty interesting going on 🤘🤘
Thanks for sharing! JESUS is king and savior! Love this song! God bless you buddy!
How much more classic hard rock can it get. Superb song, love it big time!
Thanks for giving this tune a spin... Turn it up! 🙏 ⬆️
Been a Whitecross fan from 1st album, great band and guitarist

Carry the cross but Rock the Whitecross!
Sounds like Ronnie James Dio hired George Lynch to play guitar, and this was the result

Amen
Guitar is outstanding !!!
Rex rocks!!!!
The full album will be out on Dark Star early 2023!
He sounds like Biff the singer of Saxon sounds just like that
🎉🎉🎉
Cool tune. You are spot on about the Dio comparison. This sounds like something Dio could have recorded in the 80s 👍🎸🎸

Iridium Rocks! I appreciate your review!

New singer is very different, really good- vocals have some Maiden, even a bit of alternative/post grunge metal.
Killer tune. I listened to these guys some WAY back in the day. They had some good songs, but a lot of their stuff wasn't really "metal" enough for me so I got away from them. Definitely down for more of this!
If I didn't know better I'd think Scott Wenzel was still the singer. The new guy is spot on with Scott's sound.
Hes way more dio the scott
Not as high pitched as Scott, this guy has a fuller voice I prefer the new singer
Sabeis donde se puede encontrar la traduccion?es bestial la canción
ruclips.net/video/R0BLff9heAI/видео.html Whitecross "Fear No Evil" official Video release!
oh yeah, same thoughts on it.
Where is Scott wenzel???
He is doing missions work
Singer sounds alot like dio with a different personality drummer agreed with me to Micheal Feighan
He reminds me of Les Carlsen from Bloodgood at times.
Its not White Cross without Scott Wenzel
Sounds like scorpions 🦂
