I have a question when I go to the store kinda up a hill I think I feel the friction disk lightly tugging off and on seems like like a light tug or shuttering as the disk goes round and round
I was told it could be due to insufficent amount of grease on the splines. What do you think? One person told me he had his clutch removed, cleaned, greased again and all shuddering was gone.
would this kinda problem be louder in reverse but more squeaking with less juddering? it sounds p similar with symptoms like being on clutch release only while lightly grabbing, gas helps it but i can drive totally normal most of the time. my clutch is only ~3k miles old so i’m wondering if this sounds more like heat spots. i’ll admit i could’ve been a little harsh on the end of the break in but not enough that i’d expect this. first ~375-400 miles were pretty gentle. i haven’t tracked it, at most spirited drives back from work
Yea, I can be worse in reverse if you’re having the same issue. What kind of clutch did you use? Some of the cheaper clutches are very shudder-y no matter what.
My kia used to have exactly the same chatter in the exact same driving scenario, i got used to driving around the problem that i totally forgot it even used to shudder, i never got around to figuring out the actual cause tho, always suspected the clutch disc springs.
I have a corolla im with 23,000 miles that seems to fit this, it tends to be really pissy taking off like in the morning you get 2-3 no gas launches but after that you gotta clutch in rev up and slip your clutch. feels like i'm starting in 2nd. or on a hill always also my 2nd gear is kinda tricky to grab without a jerk. 1-2 and 2-3 is almost as bad as if u were to just not use the clutch --- almost** i've only put 2k miles on the car so no idea if the first owner was an idiot,
I have the same problem on my 2015 civic 1.6 diesel. It vibrates only when the engine is cold and only when releasing the clutch in the 1. Gear ? Did you figure out what the problem was ?
I’m not sure how long you should but I’ve driven years on an old Integra. I’ve driven 5+ years on my Chevy s10 manual with the same issue. Technically, a chunk of clutch disc or spring could get lodged between the disc and the flywheel but that’s risk is up to you.
great video 📸
Thanks for this ! My 2015 civic is going through the same thing .
What was it ?
3:28 clutch shuddering example
7:52 diagnosis of flywheel and clutch

what a hero .. a nice clean piece of cardboard / hardboard make s an easy slide working surface .
Thank you, I’ll try that next time.
Me too, 2015 civic tourer, in UK.

I have the same problem on my 2015 civic 1.6 diesel.

Clutch disc springs. Replaced the clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel and it was fine.
@@85garage damn...that sounds pretty costly.
Flying weel alone is over 500€
How long did the work take?
About 8hrs total
