@@superrobotedI recommend going to a place called Toy Dojo (it’s a store in Austin) and they had both versions of Missing link Optimus. (I recommend getting the anime version cause it’s cheaper than the original toy version)
The g1 walmart cartoon color always have diecast at the same place the original g1 have you can clearly see the legs and the red truck chest piece is still in metal !!!
86 Optimus Prime is perfection. I still like Earthrise Prime though. The Deluxe Prime is also fantastic. However, always nice to get a deluxe class as good as this upcoming Optimus Prime. But fans expect a Commander class to be good, no great. Given the difference in price. At this point in time I have no idea how long it will be before Hasbro produced an Optimus Prime better than the 86 figure.
I hear the occasional collector trying to be cheeky about the Commander Optimus Prime and pretend like it's just another cash grab..but after seeing these photos..it looks way better than the press shots. This certainly is the one to get your family members as a gift. It's just on a whole nother level like Ultra Magnus was. I have Windsweeper now and it's a little bit of a let down...I guess because they changed so little and it has looser joints(atleast my copy did).
Some lucky family meme we will have one from me. I really only wanted to but in case my order gets cancelled I ordered two from another place. Hopefully Hasbro will get the memo as you can never have enough Primes
I love G1 so freaking much but man I’m sorry, I am not buying that Walmart G1 Optimus Prime. So glad I got the Studio Series 86 version on preorder because he looks so much better than those old crappy G1 toys from the 80s.
While I have the G1 Prime from 2002, the Walmart exclusive looks fantastic, and great to see he no longer has shortened stacks. The safety concerns for the reissue were idiotic. Super excited to get the 86 Prime in Fall, as he is about as accurate as he's going to get for a good long while. Should have the Earthrise arriving in the next couple of weeks as it will be fun to experience. TBF is probably the closest Hasbro has come outside of MP to releasing a G1 inspired Prime/trailer for the time it was released. So I like the historical significance of it as well though 86 blows it completely out of the water in all respects. Really like the final Doom/Destruction pack, but like you really disappointed in the darker green as he really looks not that dissimilar to the Bludgeon release as only the yellow really stands out. Love that he still includes the sword as now the original Bludgeon can dual wield.
My oldest son is not so much a fan, but watching me replay the '86 movie he was like dad I want one. My youngest son prefers Earthrise. So I gave him my Netflix Prime. I'm excited for this Prime like UM they look so G1 which is a what I want. I'm sure in 10 years we will get the most perfect Prime but for now I will accept this one
First the "deluxe-sized, missing link" Optimus, now THIS zillionth G1 reissue. Hasbro is really milking this in EVERY possible direction, before finally releasing Missing-Link Prime stateside.
Missing Link is the dream of what we wanted in a Prime but that Walmart one will be bought on site if I see it. I got the Nemesis Bridge set why for the love of God did I do it - Shockwave.
@@superroboted if you put a video up on it and are having loose joint issues with Megatrons legs I'll tell you on there how I easily fixed his loose knees anyway
@@superroboted yea I tried tightening the screws on the knees but as soon as I moved them the screws came loose again. So what I did to fix it is swap screws with the old earthrise Megatron and it actually worked. I'm thinking of swapping the leg pins too to see if that fixes the other looseness issues but haven't decided yet also Ed whatever you do don't transform Megatron. His gundam barrel will chip the paint off his shoulder pieces because the fit is very tight because of the paint

ngl I kinda hate the walmart g1 optimus. Missing link is such a win and the walmart just looks cheap and I hate the toon accurate paint they went with makes it look super cheap. Like KO bad.
Nah I won't say that, but they have to appeal to the casual collector as they may not know about Missing Link. To me I don't see that shine from diecast in the Walmart version
@@superroboted very true and the toon accurate robot mode the bumper looks off and the stripe thats supposed to go around the truck cab is just cut off. plus optimus looks like he's wearing a diaper with the white bumper.

I'd say it's going to be a long long while before another one is made. Hopefully the cab will get repaints like MP_44

@@seanmc7128 Yeah I tighten the screws and it fixed most of it...but I need to swap heads on the Soundwave though....
