Brilliant, priceless video, especially since few people and places are repairing Super 8 cameras anymore. Over half of super 8 cameras are unfixable due to deterioration or just being made cheaply of decaying plastic parts like most Kodaks (save theM2 and M4, among other makes) and the Leica is one of the best ones ever made, so thank you!
This is a brilliant, hepfull video - I have a Super but the manual iris control gets stuck and the footage counter doesn't work - I'm inspired to have a go at fixing it. Thank you for making this.
Incredible repair job. I wish I could do such repairs. I'm looking for a working super 8 camera, bought 8 now and they all have issues. One of them is a Leicina Super RT1 which underexposes the film. At the end of your video you show the Exposure Adjustment Dials. If I want to adjust the exposure of my camera, can I just start turning those dials and try to correct the exposure or is there anything I have to watch out for?
With a cartridge installed you can adjust the automatic exposure. There is a dial on the cart side of the camera. This compensation will increase exposure up to +1 f-stop, which will give more light on the film. Once you make the adjustment the camera will do the rest in auto-mode. This is not a manual adjustment, but a way to increase or decrease exposure while in auto-mode. So if your films are underexposed this will help. I just bought one of these cameras and everything appears to be working. I use Kodak's new Ektachrome 7294 which needs more exposure to look correct when projecting. The +1 compensation will help in this regard.
Your content is amazing, please make more. Camera repair is becoming/has become a lost art

An amazing and very precise job! Congratulations mate!
Wow, truly surgery. I'm picking up a Leicina Super on Monday at DuAll Camera in NJ. Pretty excited.
Thank you for the vid! I would like it if you do Bolex cameras as they are a lot famous
Great video! What model of collimator do you use?
What was your solution for the battery compartment? Mine is also corroded
Can you fix these? Do you know anyone who takes orders?
