My father emigrated from Talagang to Delhi in 47. He expired a few years ago. When I was a child, he told me this story. Your Punjabi accent is similar.
Listening to this video was like sitting in a history class and listening to a Master. Baba Gorakhnath is the founder of Nath sampradaya (Community). It has branches (Monasteries) all over India. Current UP Chief Minister, Yogi Aditya Nath, is the head of Gorakhnath Math (Monastery) at Gorakhpur in UP. Gorakh is from Goraksh word of Sanskrit. It means protection of cows. Gorkha from Nepal and India also are the followers of Gorakhnath. Learnt about Puran Bhagat. Now I realise why we have a mohalla called Puran Nagar in Lucknow, a locality inhabited by people coming from Punjab of Pakistan after Partition.
Loved this tale, I too have read the folk tales of Raja Rasaalu, the son of Shaaliwahan (colloquial pronunciation: Salwaan). Infact, our Punjabi poetry classes had extracts of 'Lunaa' written by ShivKumar Batalvi. Considered as a classic, I remember reading 'Puran da apni maa Ichraa naal milaap'. And yes, we read Qadiryaar's Puran Bhagat too who was the original inspiration for Lunaa by Batalwi. Thanks so much for narrating this chapter of History. You are a great story teller, Sir.
Thank you very much Sir for the wonderful episode.Would like to add 1. Tilla jogian had such a revered place in Hindus that in Kumbh mela Tilla Jogian was the most respected seat among jogis. During kumbh Tilla jogian head decision was considered as final in all the matters related with jogis. 2. Last rites of Jogis were not funeral . They are considered that they can travel abode in their own body. They are buried in vertical position with legs folded as ASANA. 3. It was a general practice among them to put some coins in their Samadhis. So somebody might have got smthing in one so rest were digged.
@@nomaninlahore1217 Welcome Sir ! Jogis have been part of history in Rajasthan also.
