You people of today are amazing, completely different from the audience of a few decades ago. Shouting, fidgeting, noise impress you so much that you hardly pay attention to the actual iconic main character. The more extreme method-acting you get, the more you overlook the most impressive character.

Inspite all its three main stars being Americans and delivering their dialogue in English the movie itself was entirely an Italian production and therefore wasn' t allowed to be participating in the annual oscars ceremony at the time.
A movie must at least partially be co-produced by an American production company to be nominated for any regular Oscars.
The Academy Awards were originally created to point out outstanding achievements of the American movie industry only, thus the Oscars are not an international and open film festival like Cannes, Berlin or Venice for instance.
Only a few years after WW2 and to compete with these international film festivals the AMPAS introduced the 'Best Foreign Language Movie'-category to open the Oscar event also for foreign movies a little bit.

@@dangerousdanmcgrew745 Yout think wrong. The iconic and truly unforgettable character of the movie I'm talking about was and is "Blondie", the mysterious and cool man with no name!
You seem to have no perception of it these days, and that is a great loss. No sense of it anymore. The one that fidgets and grimaces the most is the one that appeals most to people today. We seem to have ended up in a completely different world today in absolutely every respect than we did 30 or 40 years ago.
Wallach is one of three protagonists in the movie, and nothing has changed about who the real icon is, namely the coolest movie character of all time. You've just lost the perception of it today, no perception of depth, of mystery, of true greatness that overshadows everything else!
Wallach is great, but the absolute legend here is the Eastwood character that no one else could embody like that. This is Eastwood's greatest performance, and Leone's best masterpiece. Eastwood's "Blondie" is the truly irreplaceable one here. Always has been.
However, not that I'm still a real fan of this whole satanic movie industry. In the end, they're all false idols.

Just wanted to say thanks for uploading this classic movie, and in pretty good quality I may add. Enjoyed watching it again it very much . I'm a big fan of Clint Eastwood. I remember my friend and I played hookie from school the day "The Out Law Josey Wales" appeared in the theaters down town Winnipeg in 1976

Tuco's character is fascinating. He is cunning, suspicious, unscrupulous, smart ,untrustworthy and funny at times when he is outsmarted by others. Most memorable character of the movie and played masterfully by Eli Wallach. Some of background music is hauntingly sad.

Glad I’ve seen this classic movie several times before. The sound goes silent on the final scene and ruins the ending for someone viewing this 3-hour movie for the first time.

I love this film who is my favorite western with (a few dollars more). Everything is perfect since the beginning to the ending, the scenes, the music, the acting. The actors are so great, so my favorite character will always be Angel Eyes (called "Sentenza" in the Italian version and also in the French and German dub.)

How awesome does it get? T'was the best movie on Earth in the 70's and still utterly untouchable in 2024. Eli Walloch, Lee Van Cleefe and Clint Eastwood. C'mon man.

One of the best westerns ever produced with clarity, matching the past era of chaos wars crimin als and traitors. In 1 i970 I watched this nice flick with my late eldest brother in Bangalore. Following year I moved over to the US for higher studies. The othet wrsterns that I can't forget are 'The man from Laramie' and 'who shot Liberty Valance with great actors like Jim Stewart, John Wayne and Lee Marwin. Hollywood does not produce movies that stay in our mind for good.
